Raced an SRT4 Last Night

My uncle knows this guy that has an SRT 4, that was almost stock......so I wanted to race to see how I would do.
Well he called him up and He said he had an AGP Wastegate set at ?psi, NGK Iridium Spark Pluga, and A Manuel Boot Controler set at 18 psi.
So when he got to my uncles house we went to the spot where everyone usually races.
Well we get there and he wants to go from a roll....so I agreed thinking I was gonna get killed. Well we went from like a 15 to 20 mph roll and after three honks we were off....and my god it was close, but to my surprise I actually beat him.....by only 1/2 a car, but I did. I freaked out.
GOOD FUN!

he's probably pissing boost like crazy. SRT's come with possible the worst Pressure pipe/clamp setups i've ever seen in a turbo car. I've leak tested my car about 5 times now, each time i'm leaking. Infact, its been 1 week since my leak test, i bet if i did one tonight i'd be leaking from somewhere.

Was this a 20-40 race? What speed did you guys shut down at? 20mph is junk for an MBC/WGA SRT, he'll just smoke the tires in first gear and most of 2nd if he's got the stock 205's on.

If he was boosting like he said, he'd easily walk away from a stock cobalt (at least from a 40 punch anyway).

Good kill, traction = winner.

I'm stock also and raced a SS S/C and by the end of second I had pulled a fender on him. No way in hell did you beat him without A.) it was boost leaking like hell or B) you raced up to 50 mph.

amen to that! When I was on the stock turbo getting some aftermarket t-bolt clamps and tightening those suckers down did wonders versus the weaksauce worm clamps that are stock.

That reminds me I should do that this weekend when I get under the car again to do some work.

I never had a boost leak free SRT, but I have also never used that as an excuse for loosing.

I know what you mean. My spoiler is really weak sauce. Sometimes i wish i could get an Evo spoiler installed and really lay some smack down! I mean the rectangular shape itself is good enough to destroy Z06's with no problems.

The Arc on the neon spoiler is nice, but it would be a lot nicer if it was at least 4 feet off the decklid. I dont know about you but when it comes to hp, nothing does it like a Jegs 32" Doubledecker.

I would not want to tangle with this guy on the street. That is way too much power.

I rode in one of those and it lifted the front wheels.

Exactly! Never mess with a FWD that can do a wheelstand.
