eh its my friends lightning and he has exhaust intake and Shift kit. I have Airbox mod and catback. Ran from a 2nd gear 50 roll an pulled a fender on him and then a slow slow 15mph roll and was dead even. I spun an have no tread on my tires so im waiting for some DR's to go from a dig. Im pretty impressed with my car these days.

Well according to THIS SITE, the fastest stock 1/4 mile time for an ss/sc is 14.06...STOCK...so why is a 14.2 so hard to believe when he has some light mods?

If you go to the sticky in the Drag Racing forum titled "1/4 mile times" it shows the lowest times ran in a stock ss/sc. There is a 14.06, and a couple 14.1 and 14.2s. So seriously, is it really that hard to believe that with intake and cat-back he can run a 14.2?

I just read that the 95 Lightning runs a 15.7, the 99 runs a 14.3, and the 01 runs a 13.9. We don't even know what year the Lightning was that he ran.

 

I have a hard time with an L from a dig and i'm trapping at 106. This is kinda unbelievable.

 

weirder things have happened....I trap about the same, 105-106....I don't think I could do it. Then again, I personally watched a stock car with DR's click off consistent 13.9's.

i run dead even with my buddy's lightnign and he is putting down 490ft.lbs and i belive 420hp at the wheels. he runs about 10.7's in the 1000 here and i run about 11.1's. i believe this is possible if the guy is a good driver

Roll racing isn't racing. It's only used by noobs to give themselves a chance because they can't launch there car from a dig.

 

Well then if the Lighting is all powerful then why couldn't it win it's self out of a very slow roll race? That should be like the sweet spot if it was 15MPH.

 

A lightning is a mid 13 second car @ 103-104 bone stock. from a 40 roll i can see it being close, but from a low roll like that it shoulda been a slaughter. That is the lightning's strong point and it's an automatic so dont say maybe he didn't downshift.

 

people are so skeptical. check the slip in my gallery. i have an intake and an intake only. that was my first time ever at the drag strip. stock tires and everything.
