Okay, so some guy that's friends with my girlfriend says that he has a '96 Civic coupe, and has a 1.8L inline 4 that's stroked to a 2.0L and has the head of a GSR that's "fully built" running on stock body, stock tires, stock tranny, says that it'll be able to beat my 255whp SS/SC on the highway, and that it can also run an 11 second 1/4 mile. Mind you this is a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder with no forced injection of any kind. I'm thinking he'll be pushing 180hp TOPS. Is this a complete ricer? Or could it in reality be as quick as mine at all?

he's from lawrence. he's been hitting on my girlfriend, saying that he wants to come pick her up and take her for a ride in his "monster" once it's finished. i want to race him. and btw, don't get mad, but i have drubin's money, but i honestly can't afford to do it now, because i have a $600 court fee to pay otherwise i get my license suspended for 90 days and my fine gets doubled. i'm working now, so i should have his $200 within 2 weeks. but yea...i want to find this kid and race him on the highway. my dads getting me a TVS for my birthday in june.

most likely a pretty quick car. depends on how he can drive, if its actually "built, and of course whats all done to your car.

11's no way. low 14's, very likely, mid 13's possible. drivers race, but i think you should win.

in all honesty, if it is built right, and he can drive, the car will be pretty quick. no way in hell he is running 11's, let alone 12's or low 13's ( in the 1/4 mile )

dunno if it "is" stroked chances are he has more done than he is telling you.... that being said i have seen a real fully built track only n/a go high 9's in a video from PR (yes it was def N/A and def still a honda motor....on some level at least lol... and yes it was def a 1/4 mile....)


that being said you'll most likely walk..... but i have been tied by a 12 sec n/a hatch (2.0 k20 motor, intake, header, exhaust, hondata, semi gutted, amazing driver, and the hatch was beautiful....... dude also had a 800fwhp boosted track hatch btw) and right now i am sitting in the low 3 area for whp <=also he told me he was a gsr swap before we ran..... you never know if dudes lying....

 

at the local track last summer i saw an n/a civic run mid to high 12's but it also have itbs and it was built

glen, i completley believe you. it depends on his driving "skill". id say is a mid 13 second car for the average driver. most likely the OP will have a good race on his hands, depending on his mod level.
