RX-8 Good race with 2.4L
Hey, raced an RX-8 3 times tonight it was really fun can't remember his name, but if he reads this I had a ton of fun, even with the cops behind us and all!!!! Anyway...
All 3 rolls were at a 30, so I think he might have started in 3rd the first two and 2nd the last one...
First 2 - I pulled off the start and walked it both times... We ran to about 85 before seeing MAD cops....
3rd - Both started in 2nd from a 30 and pulled him until about 60 when we came upon ANOTHER set of about 6 cops
Was a really good run, but even he said he is disapointed by the RX-8 so I saw the win coming... Was my first decent run tho I had a ton of fun!

If he was in 3rd gear at 30 and trying to race he's a moron... That might put him just a little out of the cars powerband, like a big little.... I dont care how bad he was dissapointed with the car, I have driven both of them and the 2.4 doesnt stand a chance.

Sorry I am about half drunk got held up in traffic on 30 coming back west. I can't tell you what speed exactly or what gear he was in but I know I dropped from 3rd to second, lost half a car both times and still pulled him... The third race was a 2nd gear roll from 30 for sure so ask him he knows better,. I drnak 3 more 22's of icehouse on the way home after all that traffic so I duno

i think the RX-8 and the 2.4 is a pretty equal matchup, i just dont see the point of either one of you guys starting in such high gears...first i would race from 40 not 30, higher starting rpm's=more pull, second i would put my car in 2nd before i started racing each time, instead of wasting time for a downshift, again with the rpm isssue...i dont doubt that you won at all, especially if the guy started in 3rd.
i would picture it being a drivers race more than anything with the 2.4

nice kill bro. i raced an rx-8 last saturday on the southern state parkway, 4th and 5th gear we went from, and it was never even a race, i had him by 3 or 4 cars every time we went at it, but definately nice kill for a 2.4. ill be home in dallas in october, november,ill be lookin for yall.

Aight phil, holla we meet up with some SRTs and stuff on tues night at hooters all over. I drank 3 beers before we raced, got stuck in traffic for over an hour on the way home, and yes I was no longer sober right before I got home.
The cops - Not sure, 2 of the SRTs we were with raced in front of me and the RX-8 while we were rolling about 40 in a 65. We saw a cop behind hte RX-8, so we blocked him in as to not let him catch the SRTs. He might have after he got around but we blocked good, slowed down, waited a minute, then raced. After that we passed about 3 groups of 6-10 cop cars and ambulances. Seems there was a horrible wreck on the other side of the road. Which is what side of the road I got stuck in traffic on when i turned around (IDIOT)... But yeah there was like every cop from Dallas area out there but they were mainly on the other side of the road. I actually had to take my cobalt off the side of I-30 going west down onto the service road through pretty high grass, and my front end is looooow. It was scary, so I let a couple trucks and cars make a path before I attempted it. Overall, was a fun night tho. On the service road I bought some more beer cuz it was like 11:57. So no I did not race drunk.
