ryank771 v.s. s1lver

Chris and I decided to finally take the cars out and run them against each other to see where our mods/tune stand. Wasn't the greatest of weather (~30 degrees), and we are both running crappy all season tires...but had fun none the less. I can't remember all of Chris's mods, but he can list them once he gets here.

2006 Cobalt ss/sc G85
My mods:
60lb injectors
2.8 Pulley (hitting around 16lbs of boost top end)
Airbox mod
Option B cooling tank
Dual pass end-plate
ZZP shorty header (3in collector, 2.5 exit) with catless midpipe
ZZP tune
Tranny/Engine upgraded mounts
Cobra H/E

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkUgpYFma0M

We did 3 runs - two 40mph rolls and one 30mph roll. Each time I jumped him and got to about 3-4 car lengths before 110-120mph.

Hopefully over the winter we can get Chris's 2.9 pulley and dual pass end-plate installed. After that we can get him tuned and we should be pretty damn close after that. I may end up taking my car to some place local to get some fuel trim adjustments as well. I think I can squeeze out some more boost too.

Anyways -- thanks Chris for coming out. Glad we could finally match them up and see where we stand. Now we have a starting point to get you where you need to be!

Oh yeah, and all runs were done on private roads....in Russia.

Nice to see a stable camera. I hate watching street races with the camera guy looking like he's in an earthquake.

LOL.....yeah, basically it's just my digital camera, mounted upside down using a RAM mount suction cup. I use it mainly for when I take my rx8 to the track to get a cockpit camera view. It def stays stable though.

I would like to see how I stand against a TVS! I'll make sure to post something next time before we head to Russia for some more private road racing.
