Hello CSS.net,

Tonight, on my way home from 'Another Level' car show, me and the people I rolled with stopped to get something to eat at a Steak n Shake. I end up leaving early because I'm tired and they are taking too long. I get on the highway and there is a KIA Optima Turbo right in front of me on the on ramp. So, thinking nothing of it I follow him down, put the car in fifth, and keep driving. He then rolls up quick and tries to do a pull with me. I give kind of a half throttle third gear and pull like 3 cars on him, then let off. Needless to say he keeps trying, but I don't give him the luxury. But I get in the right lane to get off at my exit.

Just then I see familiar headlights, and low and behold...its a brand new GTR, with a titanium tipped exhaust. Most likely stock besides that. White, CF front lip, gold brakes, black wheels. Literally, exactly like my car, or mine like his, either way. Hell I even have the LED brake lights so we really looked similar!

He rolls up quickly, and gives it a little gas. I had already put it in 3rd and started to pull back. He was about a car ahead when he hit it, and whilst spinning, I made that car up and pulled a half on him, then let off as I came up on traffic. The GTR seemed a tid-bit...stunned...and he backed off for a minute. I miss my exit purposely, roll my window down, and line up next to him again and down shift to third. I have my window down and give him a little smile, and I see a passenger woman, make some gesture to the driver. He hits it...so do I. Same thing happens, minus him ever being ahead of me.

So, I slow down and give him the thumbs up and mouth 'amazing car bro' to him. I then cruise for a bit. He wanted one last opportunity though. So, open road hits, he moves out from a car, but I was still ready. He hits it, and I hit it too, the car starts doing its amazing 60-70mph burnouts and pulling hard, then I shift into fourth for a moment, by this time I had roughly 3-4 cars on him. He then came back up to me, then sped off. I tried to slowly catch up to give him the thumbs up again, but he was gone. Then I got off at a nearby exit, and rolled him.

I apologize for the lack of video, but, alas, I was driving by myself.

PS - Most of you don't know unless you were at CED, but I went under the radar and picked up a 2.1l girdled block as well.

nice kill man. cant wait to get my car back from ZZP. Im getting the 2.1l with the goodies and a S256et with stg2 turbo cams. hoping to put some good numbers down. even tho im on stock trans for now.

Thank you. You will like the car, just be ready to shell out money to get an upgraded trans, the stock won't last too long depending on how the car will be pushed. Treat it nicely, and it will treat you the same.

 

well, E85 tune and im keeping the boost low for a while. I plan on doing the trans upgrade next spring. as well as rotated mounts and revised shift bracket

 

hearing things like this makes me want to just keep my car and build it when i get back..congrats man crazy car you got there

Dont worry, your car is faster than mine and i got video vs a modded GTR. Your story is easily believable.

I believe he's at 600whp.

 

BEFORE the 2.1 girdled block I made 605 on zzp's mustang dyno.

Very well! It's not bullet proof but it's actually holding the power. Also not the best for highway runs depending, but it's a good strong trans.


Thanks man, I really appreciate it. No need to be jealous, I've been around since the beginning for the most, and it's been a long process of time & money. Your own car is unique and represents the community in a positive light as well, and that's what matters!

 

you should get an RPD and make a vid. lol. you probably do 60-100 faster than the GTR does 0-60
