That is just the factory options for mods. I would imagine there is more aftermarket options available. It's made by BMW, so I'm sure the BMW tuners would jump on it.

Sorry, shoulda been more specific. I didn't know there were so many versions of the cooper. I *thought* it was an auto, due to the fact that i saw absolutely no jerk at all between shifts. Clearly good shifting skills.

After some research, It was a Mini Cooper S Convertible. 168hp Supercharged 6spd. I was down close to 3 car lengths after 90mph. We didn't race from a dig, we both hit it from the roll off the light.

My car is a bone stock 2.4 5spd, and believe me, i shift just as fast as the next guy, and i'm very in tune with my rev limiter. I know it's not much of an excuse, but i had 3 golf bags in the trunk and a 220lb passenger.

I completely agree. ive spent alot of time in one.
I also grew up around coopers long before they became "cool" and brought to the states.

but i can tell you with complete certainty....that it wears off.
you can make it well organised to give good space....
but in the end with a package that small, you really only have so much room to work with.

I can't be 100% certain on the year, but judging by paint condition, and rust on the exhaust tips, i'd say probably '05 maybe? This has me kindof curious now, becasue there are days where my car feels sluggish and "tank" like, and other days, faster than usual. Anyone else get that feeling with their 2.4?

But the old Mini's...

A Mini-TEC is my dream car

I would die for a nice Mini with a B18C5 in it

if a 5 speed 2.4 gets beat that badly by a MCS, somethin aint right. ive driven the 03-06 MCS and its a turd. now...the 07 MCS is a different story. totally redesigned, turbo'd instead of s/c, 190hp.

The new Cooper S is Turbo so if you heard blower whine it was at newest an '06. Also the new Coopers have the turn signal integrated into the headlamp assembly, not seperate like the first gen.
