I knew the slowbalt was, well, slow but man did I ever find out how much tonight! It was f.ing hillarious! I pulled up to a red light right next to a srt-4 that I think might have been modded and I knew he was going to floor it because we had both just been doing about 65 in a 45. Well the light goes green and we both have to make a left hand turn onto the highway, I was on the outside. We both floor it and I for one spun/slid all the way around the corner. By the time we were around the corner he was already at my front bumper. I had my window down and his exhaust was so loud I almost hit the rev limiter. I pull 2nd and just after his blow off valve pops off and then poof he was GONE. By the time I exited about 300 yrds later I was doing 60ish and he was a good 6-10 car lengths ahead of me. This is the first time I have gotten a chance to do anything close to race my car and I have to tell you, I chose the right screen name on here!

It's a 2.2...you can play with the other Neons, the SXT, not the SRT-4s.

im guilty of the same thing slowbalt....altho i own a ss non sc, i still like to race people even if i know they are gonna whoop my ass bad cuz i like to see them go, my first race was against a 350z, and it was fun as hell to watch him go, my thoughts were man i wish i was in that car right now! ....

let me add one more thing that has absolutly nothing to do with this thread...
if they come out with the 08' ss and its turboed...im trading in my ss non sc.

 

at least u admit the loss, unlike some people on here they think their cobalt is the ****... but really... its just ****.. (that stinks). srt-4 is a great lil car. fast too. great buy for the money. u lost like a pro though... so gongratz... on a race that wasnt really a race..

The 2.2 is a very respectable econo box car. It kicks the **** out of any car below 16,000 dollars. I just can't wait till the turbo's start going on 2.2's that will be kick ass. Imagine pulling up next to the same neon in a year after some tuning and actualy holding your own, (maybe not winning but not getting killed).

 

That's how I felt when I used to have a auto base rsx and pulled up next to a wrx at a light.

I'm surprised you tried to race him. You should stick with SXT neons, and leave the SRT-4 to the WRX/SS/EVO crowd.

 

why not race? its all in fun, i run people in my 2.2 sometimes but i know its slow, so thats alright

 

Yes I am aware. I've already stated that many of the people who know little about cars will refer to my sig and quote that thinking they are now the **** which will somehow make me feel down about myself when in reality I already own you at life..

 

Nice Death. My buddy gave me a run in his Stage 2 SRT-4. I couldn't even tell you what colour it was by the time he shut down!
