i had a horrible launch i was at the track the day before and forgot that my car doesnt hook up on the street like it does at the track but i came out on top.

I was just talking to my shop guys about this yesterday at the track. Me and a couple others where thinking that my car would smoke a 370z and you my friend have proved me right.

 

i know i dont know why it came out like that i was thinking about putting music in the background.

it would have been worse if i would have got a better launch

 

Ofcourse it doesn't hookup on the street like it does on the track. The track is prepped.

Was the 370Z even powershifting? Looks like he was pussyfooting it.

good kill op, i hear those 370Z's are strong.

 

370Z's are low 13 second cars. Even if you have mods and your SS/TC is tuned it's still gonna take an awesome driver to beat one.

 

What mods do you have? I'm itching to run a modded TC in my C5

 

full boltons but at the time i had a blown map sensor and my nls wasnt working. i have raced a couple of c5's and pulled them by about a car or two my gf video's but for some reason when i race good cars she is allways mad at me lol

Are you talking about racing his modded SS/TC in your 06 or 97? Even if your 06 Z06 was stock you would still beat his SS/TC, and your 97 would need quite a few mods to beat it.

 

I haven't taken delivery of the Z yet so it's not what i was talking about. I was talking about my C5. I'm trapping 117 with boltons and in the 11's but i was just curious

 

was that 300 stock? They can be NASTY with bolt ons. low 12's nasty.

 

poor choice of words. maybe "edge out". the guy in the comments was right. the z would have barely won the race on a 1/4 track. look at the time in the vid when the cobalt finally passes it.
^ comments like that one are the reason i left this site for a while.. it seems this demographic didnt change. kids that know nothing other than this is the fastest car they have been in so that must mean its the fastest car EVAR!!!!!

Good Kill, though. But I think you might have been dealing with an driver that's new to the car. Those cars are very fast, especially from a Dig when the driver knows what he/she is doing.

 

Problem with those Z's is the driver. Most people i've come across can't drive for ****, I pull them in my stock 350z and they get all pissed off. You have to drive the car hard to make it run like a 13 sec car. If you are sleeping on the shifts you will get beat by a lot of "slower" cars. It's just very noticable on this platform for some reason, it doesn't recover well from slow shifting.

I would love to run a fairly stock LNF, I doubt it would beat me

 

I'm confused!! Did they make a C5 in 97, or are you talking about another Vette that you dont have listed in your Sig?? It takes quite a few mods to make a 97 Vette fast.

 

97 was the first year of the C5. As for making it fast. The car ran 13.3@107 bone stock.

You ran a 13.3 @ 107 in a stock 97 Vette? What engine is in that year Vette? LT1?

 

i was trapping 107 with the blown map sensor (boost guage was at 16psi)bogging from 1st to second due to boost dropping and nls wasnt working and as far as launching goes if i had a better launch i would have passed him alot sooner he shouldnt have had more than a half a car on me but it was my frist run of the night so

i forgot to add it was from a roll

when i ran the c'5's. do the c6's come with diff engines in certain years? (the base c6 not zo6 or zr1)

 

c6 came with an ls2 until 08, then it got the ls3.

 

Isnt the LS3 the same motor they put into the new G8 GXP? I was checking one out earlier just for the hell of it. 6.3L v8, 425hp, 6spd manual and a very nice interior. Too bad they want almost 45k for it.

 

All base C5's had the LS1. 92-96 C4 Vette's only had the LT1 till 1996 when the LT4 was an option

C6 :

2005-2007 - 400HP LS2
2008+ - 450hp{Underrated} LS3

6.2L LS3 is rated at 425 but on average put down 390 to the wheels in the vette's. In the G8 and camaro it seems that GM had programmed them alittle different to be true to there ratings.
