Ok so im drivin around tonight right....and theres a bit of slight traffic...and this s10 lowered pick up trys to get over...and im like no buddy i dont think so and i speed up and he gets behind me. i keep driving and this guy is on my ass. i get in the other lane cuz the car in front of me was going slow....however the car in the other lane was turning....so i had to slow down and the truck flew by me...so i get up behind him and follow till theres 2 lanes of open road i get into the other lane...he speeds up tryin to not let me pass...so i **** into 3rd and fly by him....i get to the light and i take a right because the lane is ending....he follows me and gets into the other lane and trys to get past me but when hes about 3/4 a car behind me i shift into second and speed off again....so i put probably 6 cars between us....and i let off and push my brakes to let him know im done....and he flys by me...so im like ok ill go one more time....so i shift back into 3rd hes about 3 cars ahead...by the time i shifted to 4th i was 3 cars ahead and still going....so i again let off cuz now there are cars around....and then he does a honda fly by.

He's right. The Aveo wins this contest. Even if the S10 is potentially faster, the Aveo came out on top. It could have been that Spectral is a better driver. There are a lot of variables on the street.

 

I dunno, I just find it funny that a 85 whp 5 speed beat a pickup with like double the HP. That's like a Geo Metro 3 cylinder racing a 6 cylinder Mustang. Although it has more HP the smaller car weighs less and has to get to power band quickly so the smaller car gets ahead enough to squeeze a win.

in my opinion, u should enjoy the benefits of the aveo such as the very good fuel efficiency instead of racing s10's and other vehicles. if you bought this car for speed, then u clearly bought the wrong car. these cars arent designed for speed and racing, and you are endangering yourself and those around you when you race vehicles not designed for certain speeds. you may find yourself not being able to adequately brake or handle sharp turns and what not. as far as im concerned, you shouldnt be behind the wheel of that car driving it the way you do

It could have been a 4 cyl. auto S10. Those things have no power at all. Be safe out there, on the street anything can happen.

Not that you'll necessarily hurt others but cause of high speeds, your chassis, wheels and just car in general wasn't made to support it. You might hurt yourself cause of something going wrong where you lose control, which he is kind of correct, you have a higher risk of something going wrong in your case.

 

Actually if he put a stage 2 SS supercharged engine in there, he'd be driving a monster.

 

I love these Aveo race stories. reminds me of my buddys car back in high school. A suburu JUSTY.

As long as you think racing cars through traffic and going 90mph top speed in an AVEO is fun, you will never have the know how or will to put a different motor in your car. Come on 1000 dollars if you do it, I will put another 100 that you wreck it or blow it up before you sale it.
