SRT4 for dinner
It's a driver race stock for stock, or if you're both running similar mods. The big downside to Neon SRT-4 (for me anyways) is that they quit making it in 05... And the replacement family wagon with the same motor didn't do it justice... It's like if the only SS / TC available was an HHR (great cars, but not as sleek as an SS/TC cobalt IMO
)
A lot of SRT4s are only faster because they've been out for a bit longer, and there are not that many that are still driving around stock. Most are either modified or already totaled.
SRT4's are faster cause they are super cheap to modify. Turbo kits for around 2k that will put you above 400 whp. Solid transmissions that wont blow up over 400 whp, same with motors. Their aftermarket support is much higher than ours. They dont have just 1 main vendor, they have multiple vendors making parts.
is NOT
They've been out for longer, so much more support, and prices for mods go down... just like leemanfor said below:
Don't take s%$t out of context and make stupid comments. If you're having a bad day go have a beer.

Hmm... you quoted my post and and posted right after it... not sure what "other guy" you're talking about. Doesn't matter either way.
Either way, I test drove both SRT-4 Neon and SRT-4 Caliber before getting the SS/TC and neither were as good as the SS/TC IMO... To each their own though...

I call the Caliber an abortion, because it really was aborted by Mitsubishi and left in Chryslers hands to finish up the design. It's a pretty crapily designed car all around.
Love my Neon, though. So racecarish. Always makes me smile when i drive it.

The Caliber motor is NOT the same as the Neon. Aside from both being 2.4L, they are very different motors. So few Caliber SRTs were made, Diablosport never bothered to put in the R&D to unlock the PCM, so there's no way to actually tune a Caliber. You can run Stand-alones or piggybacks, but that's about it.

I agree. The SRT4 suffers from age and boost leaks. Did I mention constant boost leaks? It's always something, hahaha. I own the SRT 4 and Cobalt SS/TC (best of both worlds). If you race an SRT 4 with boost leak issues, I'm almost sure you won't have a problem beating it (stock turbo).
