That guy sounds like the ******** who works at a gas station where we feel up our trucks on the lot. I got gas there one time in the Cobalt and going back to work did the big fly by and flew by our cop who runs our VINs to make sure everything is legit.

Should have asked him if he let all that "power" get away from him, when he hit the curb. But I don't know what could have been a better ending than losing your car, and your job all in one idiotic cluster-F*ck of stupidity. The guy sounds like a Redneck AND a Ricer. What a combination! you people are pretty narrowminded towards them....they are only .3 seconds behind the 2.4 ss in the quarter. In my opinion have nicer interior. And on the first page someone mentioned reliability....I have had mine for 5000 miles no problems...the cobalt already had the a/c replaced, front brakes replaced b/c they were warped. And i do have a tC...do i go linin up agianst ss or ss/sc's no....b/c i have respect for them....hell i dont even race in it yet b/c until i start modding it i know if isnt gonna beat the ss or ss/sc or any quick cars....and the car is quick quicker than my 2.2 so the 2.2's sayin they beat one were against shitty drivers or autos(auto tC's are WAY slower)....
i just cant beleive the lack of respect for tC on here....when igot my tC and went to a tC forums they respected the cobalts like i woldnt have expected....they were sayin that the ss and ss/sc were quick stock and that the 2.2 just needed a little work and they could be just as fast....

Well you must be one of the few TC cwners that have a brain in thier heads then. Most of the ones we've run into are ass hats that think they have a 10second car. The TC isn't that bad of a car I agree with you and my intent was not to flame the car but the moron that owned it.

The interior, while fairly attractive (albeit dark in our black model), has cheap-looking aspects, and while it looks well-assembled, our test car, with 11,000 miles, had a surprising number of buzzes and rattles coming from different directions. The Pioneer stereo is surprisingly hard to use; the folder navigation options are good for MP3 CDs, but any driver who uses those while in motion will probably look as though they're in a heated cellphone argument. There are no knobs at all, making quick adjustments difficult, and the buttons don't have an immediate feel; they also tend to be quite small, including the power button, situated inconveniently at the far end of the unit. Changing bass and treble is down by pressing a tiny Audio key (marked with an A) and then using the volume up/down buttons. Sound is good, though not exceptional; satellite radio is integrated into the base unit.

I swear to God why is it someone sees SS and they want to break bad? Sure my car may not run 9's but its not a turd either. Case in point the wife and I went to Advance Auto in the Cobalt to get some Silver Star lights for her new car, they look great BTW. Anyway so we're talking to the the one manager when one of her employees walks in and sees we're talking about a new car so he puts 2 and 2 together comes up with 11ty 7 and thinks we're talking about the Cobalt. No biggie but then he drops the bombshell that his TC is faster then the SS/SC Cobalt and he knows he "whoop me good". Well I broke out in a roar of laughter and just kept laughing and pointing at him, I laughed till I had tears streaming down my face I got my composure and was able to ask him how much boost is he running and then he told his second side spliting joke of the day "no boost, no nawz, all engine, I whoop me some SS/SC's and you only got da 2.4 so I'll kill you" Well after I picked myself up from off the floor after having died from laughing at him again I said "Ok Sparky you say when ad where and I'll show your TC isn't a match for EITHER SS" He looked at his manager and she said "go on, I'm tired of hearing how bad your TC is so lets see it" So we go outside, big long open parking lot with a long driveway in the back behind the stores, just so happens to be just a tad over an 1/8 mile! Closed corse no harm no foul, private property so even the cops can't say BOO. So we line up and go for it! He got the jump with his 5spd but that was it and the race was mine! Hell I left it in "D" for craps sake!
So then comes the ricer! Your sprayin your sprayin! he screams and I tell him you find a bottl in my car and I'll give you $100! So he starts to look and finds NOTHING! Then it was "I got a bad start" To which I replyed "no your cars just a turd, look it says so right on it" As I point to the TRD stickers on the 1/4 panel. Oh did that **** him off! I wanna re-match he said so we lined up yet again and this time he stalled it! So I back up and say would you like another try? He floors it and dumps the clutch and spins tires wildly his car starts darting back and forth then he slams on the brakes and slides right into a curb! WHAM! The front end hits HARD! dirt flys up and lands all over his car he cuts right and comes off the curb with a thud, his driverside front tire blown, the suspension is smashed backward, the front bumper is all fucked up! Even his hood is now lifted up on the front corner! He messed up BAD! So I tell him sorry that he wrecked his car but why did he act like a tool? Then he screamed "Look what YOU did to MY car! Its all YOUR fault I wrecked it!" I go "huh, I never made you drive like a moron, its all you man." So then his boss steps in and says "He never did anything to you or your car. He beat you and you wanted a re-match, he beat you again cause you stalled it then you took off like a fool and wrecked your car. Its noones fault but your own." He whips around and screams at her "**** YOU BITCH!" To which she repls "YOUR FIRED!"
It was the funniest thing I've ever seen! but to add insult to injury she CALLS the cops and says she wants him removed! His car couldn't drive so off it went on the tow truck to the impound lot! $500.00 for the towing and $100.00 a day storage fees! Sucks to be him I guess.

Most of us actually LIKE the tC. It's a pretty tight looking car that is easily modded to give some good numbers. But there's ALOT of Honda syndrome attached to the car.
(not that cobalt owners have any of that )
