ss sc vs 20?? focus svt

i was just crusing and passed one i seen him gun it so i droped into 2nd and started pull right away. but then i slammed into the redline. then i missed 3rd. by the time i got things in order he was starting to catch back up until i got the rpms back up and then i put about a car and a half on him. im not sure of the year or the mods but i know it has an exhuast, body kit, rims. sounds like its moded a lot but not sure. this is the second time i have raced this one and the same end each time. i dont know who this kid is but every time i see him he revs his engine at me.

SVTF kicks ass. The car is very low stock, and has really nice 17" 5-spoke rims stock as well. But they aren't very fast, unfortunately, due to horrible gear ratio's.

They were made '02-'04

The SVT Foci aren't very fast cars, they are built more for handling than anything else. They have 170HP stock, which is decent, but not nearly enough to keep up with an SS S/C.

From what I've read about the Zetec engines, the best mod is to add F/I, because they don't respond all that well to regular N/A mods.

You might want to consider learning how to shift properly before you stretch your shift cable.... or ruin your transmission

I find third gear is VERY EASY to miss in these cars when you're shifting hard so I completely empathize with you!!

It's only easy to miss when you don't properly shift. You guys are just throwing your shifter in the direction of third and you're stretching your cable and screwing up your syncros. Just practice shifting - don't make excuses.
