SS/SC vs 2004 GTO

Ran my buddies 04 M6 GTO tonight from a 40 roll. He has a drop in and the 05-06 exhaust. My mods are in my sig.

Nice runs, but I doubt he had 06-07 exhaust, maybe 05-06, LOL.

And you are not a stage 2, just bolt ons?

lol 05-06 thats what i meant. thanks for pointing that out. mods are in my sig. i don't consider myself stage 1, stage 2, or anything...too many different companies with stage kits.

Yeah I know what you mean. You must be a good driver, because an LS1 is a great roll racing car, and you pulled on him pretty good.

You can take that as a compliment. Just saying, we have been having a huge discussion lately about a stock SS/TC vs. a stock LS1 F-body, and the F-body always wins, roll or dig. Good racing though man.

Thanks man. What's the difference between a F-body and a Goat? As far as weight. How much faster is a F-body?

The F-body LS1's are usually about .3-.5 seconds faster, just depending on the driver. Most LS1 GTO's are in the 13.5-13.7 range, where as most decent driven LS1 F-bodies are in the 13.1-13.3 range.

Oh gotcha. Well it sounds like an F body would be a little bit different race then for me

Unless you're pulling low 13's and trapping 107-108+, you're not gonna beat an LS1 from 40 til 120, unless the driver sucked or wasnt racing. If you have all the right mods than yeah it's possible, but with basic bolt ons it isnt gonna happen.

Not everyone is a driver from Road and Track or Car and Driver, I'm thinking in the real world it could happen.

In the real world, the slowest LS1 F-body with an auto is still a 13.4-13.5 second car. And in the real world, the average LS1 GTO with auto is a 13.7-13.8 second car.

I never called BS, but dont think you're gonna have the same outcome with the next 10 LS1 F-bodies you race. Driver mod is very important when it comes to racing.
