SS/SC vs. 2006 Civic Si

So I was getting on the freeway this morning on my way to work and along comes a new Si he pulled up next to me on the freeway at about 65mph and punches it, so I give him a good second or two before I go. Then I punch it come back up along side of him pretty quickly and then pass him he stayed pretty close (about 5 lengths) all they way up to about 145mph but then he let off. All in all it was a pretty good race though.

Oh I know my friend used to have a 11 second hatch turboed. But in general most civics are slow. Unless you go turbo or put alot of money into the motor.

why the hell would you race to 145 ? First off it is death time for all involved in the accident. Secondly in a 1/4 mile you will never get that high in the MPH. I think it is stupid to street race ( i do it too sometimes ) Completely ******* ignorant to race at that type of speed. Just my 2 cents

I have had alot of close calls, I blue out a rear tire in my old car at 150mph and kept it under control, it was pretty scarey. But dont worry I am careful.

Yeah, Civics, Integras, and RSX's, even boosted, they are about just as fast as a stock Cobalt SS/Sc and SRT4. What a lot of Honda people tend to due is get engines from Japan, because due to pollution emissions that the engines let out after 30k miles, they get rid of their cars, and Japanese junkyards are the heavans to the Honda boys.

I'm not worried about you. I couldn't care less if you killed yourself going that fast. I wouldn't feel any pity cause that would be your choice. However I would feel sorry for anyone you took withyou.

Not trying to be an ass and I'm not bashing u directly, thats just how I feel about street racing accidents in general.

Quick question. How is your stock clutch holding out with Stg 3? I plan on buying the Intense Stg 3 this winter and would like to know if the stocker has any life with this upgrade.

I am probly more likely to die walking down the street here than to die in an accident when street racing, I have had 1 friend die walking down the road she got hit by a car doing 70mph and another almost died he got hit on the same road by an off duty cop drunk also doing 70mph. But nobody I know has died street racing.

Only in Texas...

Sorry, I had to...but yeah I think racing from a roll is silly...but racing up to 145 is just asking for it.

That is the sinlge most ignorant thing I have ever heard. Honestly when I call into the morning show to vote for Monday afternoon moron I am electing you. See my sig and see how likely it is. People like you shouldn't be driving a car at all. lIKE i SAID I TOO street race , very infrequently but still do but to think your chances are better gettting hit walking because one person you know has been killed that way is flat out dumb. Sorry but truth hurts. With this type of mentality I cannot picture you being older than 19

Racing from a roll in this case actually gives an edge to the Civic...maybe he was just being nice.

Well I'm younger than 19, but i completely comprehend what your saying. All it takes ais a split second, and theres so many different ways of getting distracted and an accident to occur.

Sorry It is just that I have had 2 friends hit by cars. And my little brother got ran over on my own street along with another little boy on my street. People get hit by cars every day, its not every day that someone wrecks street racing. I do agree with you that street racing is dangerous but for some reason I love it. I dont take un-neccessary risks when doing 145mph like weeving in and out of traffic like a mad man, just so that I can win a race. Like I said before I am careful.
