ss sc vs nsx

...Put all the money that you save buying a cobalt than an nsx...and you'd be going circles around it
That being said people who can afford to buy an NSX, wouldn't be caught dead in a Cobalt SS. Therefore saying buy a Cobalt and with the money you save hook it up, is really not relevant. Heck, buy a used Civic, hook it up, and run circles around both of them.
As far as class and looks goes the NSX is heads and shoulders above the SS. If you had one date with the girl of your dreams what would you rather pick her up in? The SS or the NSX?
I agree that the NSX is a little bit outdated. What it takes to have a really fast car has grown expedientially since the early 90’s when the NSX was introduced. Honda either needs to add a bigger engine or look at an FI option. However as far as potential is concerned the SS platform is much closer to its limits than the NSX is.

*EDIT* and save 10-15k while doing it
[QUOTE=Wolfman]Please guys go out and drive one, my Dad has this car and from 60-100 especially with a mid engine car, it will go to that in less than 2 seconds.

Well, I understand your love of your father's car, but making up totally unbelievable numbers to try to bolster your case has absolutely backfired in this instance. I am going to totally give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you mean 60 KPH and 100 KPH, that means you claim the car will go from 37 MPH to 62 MPH in less than 2 seconds. 25 MPH difference in less than 2 seconds.....12.5 MPH on average every second. WOW! That is simply amazing, that almost as fast as my 1100 cc Honda motorcycle, and that SOB will make you wet your pants at full throttle. Sign me up, it has to be about the fastest street car in the World.
Of course, if you meant it will pull 40 MPH in less than 2 seconds, then it is getting into purpose built race-car numbers, all that from less than 300 horses in a street car.....what an amazing car....since it already defies the laws of physics, does it do any other tricks? Run on tap-water? Drive underwater? Travels through time? Do tell....
Exageration (aka lying) hardly seems to be a good way of enhancing your credibility on the NSX running away from the CSS.

In my opinion, the NSX "not pulling" was the NSX saying that it can keep up. If you could have gone faster, he probably would have too. I've done the cat and mouse thing when I see some guy driving like he's the king of the road. Of course, I'm a bastard and turn on my highbeams while doing it.

There are cars out there that will do well with front wheel drive, but if given a choice between front wheel drive and rear, you’re going to pick rear.

265hp Cobalt bested a 600hp Skyline by over 7 seconds...hmm...
and before you say "the Cobalt was modified" well, so was the skyline and Jetta
and the chevy owner that could afford an NSX would buy a Z06 and leave the Acura in it's dust, with enough money left over for 3 years insurance
Or for about the same price as an Acura NSX, you could buy a Lingenfelter Z06 and get 0-60 in 1.97 sec with a top speed of 227mph

Of course, when mods come into the picture, anything is possible

Look at it this way---my 3.0GHZ computer smokes my old Cleron 400 and it costs less!!
Still I in no way beleive the Cobalt SS can beat an NSX. Either he wasn't trying or it was an automatic--which was significantly slower then the 5 speed. I have half dozen road tests and most are low 13's.
