SS/SC vs SS/TC

well.... I raced a SC this morning on US15 South silver. NLS to 3rd and now the car won't go into any gear I think the cable snapped because the shifter just floats arround. Good races though. what are your mods haha.

Race 1) I won by about 1 car length.

Race 2) Even until I shifted and then yeah I had to pull over and call a flatbed to come get me haha

so technically we're 1-1

I heard some whine but it wasn't super loud.

My Mods, Tune (trifecta 23) Intake Catless DP and Turbo XS exhaust.

IDK S/C's mods. I'm thinking a TVS He was able to keep up for a bit. I slowly pulled on him.

not sure if the tc is the same as the sc car but if I lift my cup holder on my 07 sc, there are 2 white plastic things that are held by brackets.

if the one on the right side comes out of the bracket, the shifter just floats. if I go into 1st or 3rd a little hard if snaps back in.

The cable(s) are broken and so is the plastic clamp. You could move the whole shift 360 degrees. I had a feeling that's what happened.

I got a new cable and a Billetproshop cable clamp. I shouldn't have this problem happen again. =D

EDIT:This is the part.

You have a cable that controls 1st, 3rd and 5th then a second cable that controls the bottom half, 2nd, 4th and reverse. I broke mine and lost the bottom 3, you're floating in all of them? You might have had a pin or something break, I don't think that's cable related. I'm assuming a little deeper than that, unfortunately unless you broke both which I think is a rare instance.

EDIT: Just read your last post, can't believe you broke both cables and clamps in the shifter! lol Never would have thought that happened, that's the easy/cheap fix for ya thankfully. Glad to hear its not transmission related.

Its on top of Transmission where the cable ends you can look down to the left of the fuse box under hood and see it.

Roll pin sounds like the winner. I broke the plastic nipple coming off of the shifter and had it replaced under warranty. My old balt always had trouble getting into 3rd, the first time the 1-3-5 cable disconnected from the shifter, I was able to pop it back on. The cheap plastic parts helped save my transmission when I mis-shifted the 2nd time a few months later in(needed cable adjustment) 3rd, by breaking, haha. Those sturdy parts won't so, keep that in mind The upgraded cables and clamp are a good investment. I thought ZZP sold a beefier roll pin, if i'm not mistaken.
