SS/SC vs sti and evo
Well I just purchased an 06 laser blue SS/SC
.(bye bye to base 05 balt
) So I ask my buddy what would happen if i race an sti or an evo from a roll. You know stock versus stock. He said he'll beat you by twenty cars. I told him F
no not by that much. So he cald his buddy who own the sti to confirm, and said the same thing. I knew it was bull s because I've seen them race in videos and in person and mostly all the time I see the balt on top, and I was being real when I said the cobalt won by a bumper not anthing crazy like he said before. Then to ad insult to unjury he said the same kid came back with a 2.8 pulley and 60lb injector with a HP tune,and only beat him by a bumper. I know that mods like that will put it over 300HP easy to the wheels, and he said the sti was still stock. I know it should't get to me because it ain't true but it got me mad to here all those insults about our cars like that. But then I just realized that they are import junkeys and swear that all american cars are crap. Can any one tell me the outcome of a race like that.

a 2.8 pulley and a tune will not put you over 300 hp. I have those mods and more and id probably guess im around 240-260. You have to remember thought the sti is awd and has crazy drivetrain loss.

I raced a new evo a couple months ago and it was pretty close. From what I could see he had exhaust. I barely pulled on him then we had to back off becasue of traffic.

I know if you get a GMPP S2... then you would take him from a roll, and it looks completely stock aswell ;-).... otherwise, STOCK from a roll i hear you can take and evo, but a STI should be faster by a nose... but deff not 20 lenghts!! hahaha!! Just get a GMStage2 and kick his ass from a roll, from a dig, iwould avoid that!!

BTW. 2.8 60's and HPT would put ya at around 260whp. Evos and STI's are no slouches even stock.

Long story, but good read. No I don't have the video. I failed to teach my GF how to operate the camera in time. But the Guy was cool about it... if I ever run into him again... I'll get it on film.
Stock vs Stock... Dig... You'll lose unless they suck at life. From a Roll... it'll be a damn close race from a 35mph roll... I'd actually like to see it.

I raced an STI the other evening he had exhaust and he said something else i couldn't hear him we were talking while going 40, but in the end I beat him by a car maybe two. I ran a regular wrx the same night as well with a gt35 turbo and let me say my ass got handed to me like i wasn't even moving aprox 450whp at 29psi.

i had a ss/sc with around 250hp,it was fast.I sold it and bought an evo 9.ihave raced several ss/sc with stage 2's,and other mods .from a dig not a chance,from a roll ive had a few keep up till about 4th gear,then i walked away.Now i have a bone stock evo 9(35r turbo kit coming soon).Not saying that a ss/sc cant beat a evo ,but anything is possible.These people who took a staged 2 balt with a few mods and spanked evos......they were up against bad drivers,hands down.every car group has them.
I still have respect the balts but lets be real......just because the other car has a bad driver,dont proclaim that a slightly modded ss will beat a evo.
A evo 9 with a decent driver will run low 13's all day stock,
with a great driver they can run 12.8-9's stock
A ss/sc with a stage 2 and a few other mods(cai,exhaust)runs a mid 13 with a great driver.
And with a reflash to my ecu (to remove the speed limiter)these cars are able to go 169mph in 4th.........and 1 more gear to go......
I still have respect the balts but lets be real......just because the other car has a bad driver,dont proclaim that a slightly modded ss will beat a evo.

I will also race anyone who wants to.....spank an evo.If you win thats cool ,but i'm not the average (bad) driver.i do know how to drive.
