ss/tc vs 03 evo 8 20g
so this race will be happening tonight in 65 degree weather from a 40 roll..
ss/tc mods- in signature
evo 8 mods- 20g untuned stock boost, cat-back exhaust, intake
what will be the outcome?
very fishy people heard it was at 23 psi then stock boost then 400 whp so not really sure...

with that many mods i say you will take the evo8. the first evo8 i raced had exhaust from what i could see and i had dp,catback, and cai at the time with 2 people in my car and i pulled half a car on it.
From a dig youre TOAST. From a 40 roll.....IF he is stock boost......I call YOU by 1.5 cars. AWD drivetrain loss from a roll FTL.
I have a full bolt on and tuned to 20psi STI with a 20G...... and my full bolt on and tuned TC will take the STI from a roll. I think :P

my buddies sti is tuned with turboback, intake and has 19psi. but it only puts down 277whp
well honestly, evo's are all about the launch, so if you hit all your shifts might actually take him, these turboed cobalts are pretty redic from a roll
NOW lol like ive said in previous threads, real races are done from a dig, to show a true race and the cars true potential, needs to be done from a dig, but on the other hand, dont think i would take on an evo heads up from a dig so

Its 17-18psi and regulated by the ecu when stock. Trust me. WG pressure is 11psi.
I do not hear very much about 20g turbos because there are so many options that are cheaper or the same price, if not a little more and make WAY more power. Its also hard to believe hed get a bigger turbo and run stock boost. I think he is "bs"ing you.
It is at the right boost. You are correct on the stock boost part.
Who cares about drivetrain loss??? If the evo makes 500whp, it makes 500whp no matter what the DT loss is. Also, bolt on Evo> bolt on STi, normally.

Who cares about drivetrain loss??? If the evo makes 500whp, it makes 500whp no matter what the DT loss is. Also, bolt on Evo> bolt on STi, normally.

youll win pretty easily. a 20g turbo is nothing insane and if its "stock" boost aka what 17 psi UNTUNED (which is really stupid to do a freaking turbo swap and race untuned) it MIGHT make 300whp. MAYBE. I think youll win by at least 3 cars. that or he is messing w/ you.
GJ (and I like the LNF), he must be on a TD05-20g, low boost and a crap tune, because if he had a TDO6-20g, 25-30psi and a good tune I don't think there's no way you win either race unless hes a sucky driver.

They werent evo 8s with stock 20-21psi. Unless the gauge was busted. I owned a once stock one and have done tons of boost gauge and boost controller installs. Ive also tuned bolt on evos. The VIIIs arent over 18psi stock. Evo IXs on the other hand are 20-21psi stock.

i looked on youtube and a evo with 20g @ 2x psi put down 355 whp and 310 wtq
