Well actually an off duty one from canada/mexico... my car bone stock. His g8 v8 has headers, exhaust, torque converter 3k stall i think, dyno tune and intake. Did a 60 roll threw third and I nls into 4th. He pulled a fender threw third then I nls into 4 and we shut it down. Pretty surprise with the balt again.

Oh btw headers and a tune on a g8 sound AMAZING

Stock vs stock I would think a G8 GT would pull an SS/TC. And with his mods, he should easily be in the mid 12 second range. Maybe they just suck from a roll because of their auto's. Go race a G8 GXP with the 6spd and see what the outcome is, I'm interested.

 

Yea either that guy didn't know how to drive or your lying. Cause i race a red G8 stock and he pulled nasty on my car. We went from a dig and i had perfect shifts every single time with perfect launch.

From a dig I'm sure the GXP doesnt have that much of an advantage, but I'm sure from a roll the GXP with the manual probably has the advantage.

 

The car is not a gxp just isn't a roll race car. The converter took a sec to hook up he raced it from drive. Hes a great driver the car went 13.12 at the track last time know with new parts should be 12.9. Was a fun race I def lost he pulled on me just not as hard as I thought he would. I have NO reason to lie. Car owner is a friend of mine and is the best looking g8 around by far.

Have to keep in mind that the car is heavy and that hes only maybe putting down 350ish. If we were to dig it up it would have been no contest.

My bro has the same mods as this guy except the torque converter on his G8 GT. He put down 360whp and 380wtq. I have the same thing happen to me in the race as the OP. Only i'm tuned.

 

If I catch him out again I will run him otherwise I'm not going to waste my time to prove to you that I lost to a g8. He walked me just not a fast as I thought but I still lost. We talked for a while after it was funny he always says "damn I got all this money in this thing and I barely get away from you". Before he was modded it was a dead even race.

Hes should put a converter in the car the g8 I raced really woke up and had amazing response with the throttle.

 

His car is running wrong. They make over 450 whp with bolt ons and a tune.

Stock they have gotten as low as low 13's.

 

^i dunno about 450whp with bolt ons and tune if youre talking about a ls2 g8 but i can def see 380whp

 

they make around 380-400 whp with a tune+bolt ons

My good friend has own. Full bolt ons + livenpool (SP) custom tuned. my car still pulls on his.

 

really? My buddy has one too, but his is stock. He was telling me about a tune and bolt ons making 450 hp.

Maybe hes confused.

 

unless hes bolting on a blower.

a local guy has full bolt ons, tune (custom liven pool again) and a cam. dynoed at 438 roughly.

 

either way though, the guy he raced should be crushing a stock TC.

He said the car is good for around 360 to the wheels. But this balt does love 40 degree highway pulls.

Talked to him and he said that the car will be getting a new tune cam ported heads and a blower next spring and lower compresion. So this car will be awesome come summer.
