I always will be when someone is throwing out some BS about Mustangs. Not just because I love Mustangs and own one, but because I hate people talking **** about them like they are slow. Yeah the pre 05 GT's pretty much sucked, but the new GT's, Mach 1's, 03/04 Cobras and GT500's are all gonna beat an SS/SC and SS/TC in the 1/4 mile stock for stock. Just wish people would realize this by now!!

The older 99-04 GT's put down 225-230whp, the newer 3v's (05-10) put down 265-270whp stock. Big difference between 99-04 GT's and 05+ GT's.

Unless your MS6 was capable of running 13.2-13.5 stock, then you were beating shitty drivers. Mach 1's and 05+ GT's have gone 13.2 stock, and most Mach 1's average around 13.4-13.5 while the 05+ GT's average 13.6-13.7 stock. They both dyno right around 265-270whp or so, with the Mach putting down alittle more most of the time. I would love to see an MS6 run 13.2 stock, but I know it will never happen so just STFU now!!

I can possibly see a stock SS/TC or a very well modded SS/SC beat a Mach 1 from a roll, but it would be different from a dig. If you made 264whp in your car than I can most definately see you pulling a Mach 1 from a roll. You guys have to remember there is a big difference in roll racing and dig racing, which I'm sure most of you know that, but alot are saying the Mach 1's and GT's are ****, but for some reason I cant see an SS/TC or SS/SC running 13.2 stock in the 1/4 mile.
my car is pretty well modded, which is why i was able to inch my way up. I know a dig race is much diffrent, i would of done a dig but can very well stop on the highway. as for pre 05 gt's, they can be fast for sure, but the ones around here dont got dick. i can see a stock TC running a 13.2 with a good driver maybe a tenth or so slower.

Sounds about right. Run the mach from a dig and it will prob take you. Those things have a solid rear axle so they can launch hard as ****

I'm a Ford lover with an SS/TC, that makes alot of freaking sense doesnt it??? I've been around Mustangs my whole life and actually traded in an 01 GT for my SS/TC, but I still have my 05 GT.

The fastest stock SS/TC ran a 13.5, which is very very good, and I think one other guy backed it with a 13.6, most are in the higher 13 range, which is what the SS/TC's are, high 13 second cars stock. I cant see an SS/TC ever going 13.2 stock on stock rubber with no mods or tune.

either road and track or car and driver

my mistake, it says 13.8. perhaps 13.2 is a bit of a reach

Until it is done, I will not compare an 05+ GT or Mach 1 against an SS/TC stock for stock in the 1/4 mile.

edit: they respond to bolt-ons very well

Definitely agree especially if the race is from a dig. The best stock time I've seen from a Mach 1 5-speed is 13.1 at 105. In 2004 the Mach 1 came with 310 hp-333 lb/ft.

Never did see or hear about a Mach 1 going 13.1 stock, but I believe it.

i find it funny that the guys saying mach 1's are just gt's with shakers are the ones claiming kills and talking like they know everything. Mach 1 = completely different animal than the gt's. 03-04 mach 1 = 99-01 cobra with a solid rear. If you can't take an n/a cobra, you will get walked by a mach 1. the mach 1 has the DOHC 4.6, same as the n/a cobras, but with 5.4 cams, a solid rear and a different intake plenum. 275rwhp is pretty much the average. mid 13's are typical, faster is possible. bolt on cars are in the 12's no problem.

A single overhead cam V8? It would have to be a DOHC with one cam per head.
DOHC V8 has two cams per head 4 total and a SOHC V8 has one cam per head two total.
