ss/tc vs SRT8 300c
My car...08 ss/tc with almost full bolt-ons making 318whp and 364wtq. It has been 13.3 at 111mph and it may trap 112 currently as it sits just to give you guys an idea.
So after a few of us car guys got done watching the Fast Five last night(in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil of course) we stayed out back of the movie theater bullshitting for about 20 minutes. Im in my ss/tc, my brother in his 2011 5.0 GT, a friend in a TBSS, and another friend in his Viper. With just a few cars being left in the parking lot a black and tinted srt8 300c comes up and starts doing donuts....
My friend, who is in his 05 bolt-on Viper at the time, yells out if he wants to line em up for $50 and the guy actually agrees. We all get in single file and procede to head to the local spot to get some runs off. While we were on the road the guy with the Viper says he rather see the srt8 line up with my cobalt from a roll and he'll put $50 on me winning. The Viper probably traps every bit of 125mph so it wouldnt have been much of a race.
Who bets money on a roll race? I dunno, but I like racing and it's not my money so i'm all for it.
First run we line up at 35mph with me being in 2nd gear. I look over and he agrees to the mph so I started the 3 honk countdown. On the 2nd honk he is off and I file suit. His jump alone gets him a tad over a car length out in which I couldnt recover in time. By the time we shut down my front clip was at his rear bumper.
I know SRT8's are quick but damn I was alittle shocked that I didn't start to run him down even alittle bit. As we turn around his passanger yells out "Where's your buddy with my $50?" I respond with "how about leaving on the 3rd honk this time" We agreed in 2 seconds that we're gonna run it back and indeed we did.
The second run was from 35mph also and we both go on the third honk perfectly. My car spins 2nd and with my shift to 3rd he pulls out a half car length. From 60-90mph I caught back up and we were door to door...from 90-140 nobody pulled an inch on each other. The result was me losing by seriously a front clip with his car being longer Freaking close race and I loved every bit of it
After the race we all pull in a parking lot and bullshit for alittle bit. It turns out he had 3 other people in the car and is claiming a 12.6 at 112mph with just an air intake. I had my 250lb friend in the car so i'd say he was at about a 200lb weight disadvantage. I know they are about 107-108mph cars stock so it may have been tuned also? I have no ricer excuses on my part and my car felt pretty damn good.
My friend pays up the $50 wager, we shake hands, and tell each other to drive safe and have a good night
*Confirmed* I just found a youtube video of it racing and it pulled off a 12.60 at 112.4 with just the air intake.

I say that is about right, Nice runs though.
The Hemi 6.2 is a beastly motor has some wicked top end. I took one from a 40 roll buy like 2 or 3 cars but all he had was a catback which is only for sound.

But yes they are. So fun to drive. They just keep pulling. They dont fall on their face quite like the 5.7 does/did. My experience is with the LX cars of course, not the new LY 5.7/6.4 combo.

Thats a pretty high start from the roll race. You are kinda playing into their hands at that point.
