i just met a turbo stang out on the road... it wasn't pretty. he said he had a turbonetics system on it, totally rebuilt motor but wasn't sure what kind of power it was pushing out.

we took off at about 35-40 and he had about 10 cars on me before we hit 100. i knew i was gonna lose, but good lord i think a motorcycle would have problems keeping up with his car.

To the defense of the Vette, he was probably just looking for a quick run. After all, you really dont see a LOT of cars on the road that would be able to hang. At least not Cobras and Vipers.

Besides, remember the commercials when the Cobalt was first introduced? Its just a classic case of sibling rivalry!

 

I think he was looking to embarass somebody. This was in Scottsdale. I see so many fast cars everyday. He was some 50-60yrs old guy with what looked to be his 12-15yr old kid in the car. Just reving and laughing.... losers.

In regards to the Vette trying to race you. I would much rather play around with a cool car like that and loose (obviously) , than beat a riced up civic \ acura any day.

Just the fact a Z06 would give you the time of day is respect. Probly a nice guy just looking for some fun. In my experience Z06 drivers love the SS and most likley just wanted to see the car in action. Even if it was from his rear view. I am sure he wasnt expecting you to pull him...

As far as beating you , we know whos the boss in this scenario, however when he looks at his payments every month he better be beating you ....

 

I agree that it's a close race between an SS/SC and a 99+ GT from a roll, but this website doesn't prove anything.

I know you were talking about the absolutely horrible, retarded monkey-driven 2004 Mustang GT time (2004 Ford Mustang GT 6.3 14.8), but that is unrealistically slow, so I showed the one from the 99GT, the same car. The above times are more like what a decent driver would achieve in either car. Anyone who says that the GT isn't the faster car to 60 or in the 1/4 is kidding themselves, but like I said, from a roll, it should be close.
