06' STI 13.2 sec 1/4

 

so a stock STI traps 105 mph, and the current FASTEST SS trapped 105 this weekend. I'm thinking that with only an intake and 3.0 pulley, the SS should lose, although it will be a reasonably close race. Perhaps even close enough for a good driver in an SS to win, but it's the STI's race to lose.

 

It's all cool PatNy......what I should really say....boost on the wrx/sti really dont pull till about 4k..not like the srt, where its an instant boost. Driving in my friends wrx...there's not much power on the bottom end when going from a roll...thats what I meant to say, after doing a turbo upgrade on his....turbo lag on his really sucks(cuz of the size of his turbo)...but after 4k...hold on...that thing pulls like a bastard......should be an interesting race between him and my friends srt

You can say all you want...I remember when I bought my STi off of a dodge lot, the salesman got me to test drive an SRT-4...it had pull in third gear...and that was about it. The STi is on a whole different level, and I also like it when SRT-4 drivers rev at me, and I just roll down my rear POWER windows and laugh at them. But then again, they were designed to be two different cars.

 

SS with mods could hang with a stock STi but who knows...someone should get it on video hahaha lol But in the end the STi has the edge from a dig or roll.

WRX's and STI's start to wake up when a turbo-back exhaust is slapped in. especially for the WRX since it has 3 cats and a resonator!

 

My friend has an 05 sti 3'5 turbo back exhaust(no cat), pully, cai, boost controller, and its tuned thats what i can name off the top of my head and i have an 05 ss and off a 40 punch he pulls but not like you would expect it maybe got me by 2 - 2 1/2 cars im pretty sure we can hang with them probably beat them i havnt raced an stock sti but i raced a stock wrx and i pulled on it pretty hard

 

yeah ur extra 10 grand netted you power windows!...good investment! ...yeah i know the STI and The SRT are really to diffrent beasts one is made for Straight line speed the other for turns and Rallying!....HAHA usualy i dont rev at people but i got the uber cool Blue plate of power so it blows off everytime i get off the gas....

haha thats my weight savings non-power windows...I mean its cool on the evo why not on the SRT....atleast the important windows got power! thats all that matters

 

well for the record the STI i raced must have lacked the driver mod because i smoked him 2-3 cars easy! from a roll cause thats how i get down!

 

i think it's a neon thing not to have rear power windows. my sis had a 2000 base neon and she had power up front but no power in the back

 

Its a neon thing, but whats the point of rear power windows when they can only go half way down?

AHHAHA but no......... From a 40 roll I'll rape a stock Sti. I want that on record. Now im tired of repeating my self. Its not like im stock anyway while the sti still would be.

I mean comon I'm basically saying 1: im not stock with out listing my mods 2: the sti would be stock and 3: It would be from a 40 roll Which means everything is in my favor and none in the sti's but no one can believe or accept that. I did the same thing on srt-4 forums about me (modded) vs stock srt-4's and people got there panties in a bunch instead of reading what i wrote. ITs not a fair match up. Next time im gonna say me (modded) can beat a stock z06 from a 40 roll if the Z06 only has 3 tires 2 of which are on the front of the car and watch how many people call BS "Z06 for the win"

 

I would like to race a heavily modded SS/SC, but just take it easy on me guys I don't want to lose too badly.

 

if your stock from a dig it'll be past you around 105-110 and walking. From a roll if its a 40 good night. you'd need a first gear roll to hang on longer. Now thats if your stock and the cobalt has any decent amount of mods.

 

I think it would be a good race. The STI stock only lays like 230ish stock to all the wheels. You took away his launching ability to rape your A$$, so it should end up a fair race. At 45 and in 2nd gear that is a slight lull, but real close to your powerband. Take it up to 50-55, and you'll scream in second gear. Catch third perfectly, and keep going. Noe go Get Er' Done.

 

I'm willing to go from a 50-60 roll, or whatever youd like to go from...

 

Now thats what i like to hear. Down for what ever, you've earned my respect. But lets be serious digs are way more fun than rolls. Rolls are cute and all but theres a lot more enjoyment from going from a dig.
