tofu vs full bolt-on 150 shot Silverado

One of my friend's Silverado. His is an ECSB truck, full bolt-on 5.3L with a 150 wet shot...he ran 12.7 @ 104ish mph last Friday. It's a short vid, we only got one good run in, the camera didn't catch the first two honks. I dunno what the 2nd part of the vid is...but I had no traction LOL:

edit: here's his truck running the 12.7:

It's an LQ4 shortblock from a 2500HD Silverado; it's essentially an iron block LS2, except it has dished pistons. It has milled/ported 243 heads with 2.02 intake valves...Compression is 10.8:1. The cam is a reverse split 230/228 custom spec'd.

You know, I love GM trucks. My dad just bought a 07' GMC classic sierra, with the 4.8L. Even though its just the 4.8L it still smokes anything else at our house. It goes like 60 mph in FIRST GEAR!!!

Nice truck man, my brother has a avalanche with intake, lts, exhaust, and diablo tune, that thing hauls. Next he wants to put a sts turbo kit on it. Hey tofu do you think a rclb 2500 truck can be made to go fast?

Does it have the 8.1L in it?? If so, take a look at this:

And it's an extended cab. There aren't many aftermarket parts for them, most are for marine engines...but Raylar makes some decent heads and cam packages...And they make massive amounts of torque anyway. So most just throw a big shot like Tierod does and haul butt.

Hey they can still be made quick. Everything I did to my truck can be done to yours, in fact my 6.0 came from a 2500HD. It's just your truck weighs even more than mine lol. I would HIGHLY recommend an STS kit for you. Believe me, with some good flowing heads, an LS6 cam, 918 springs coupled with an STS kit and a good tune and your truck will be blowing the doors off of a lot of vehicles.

You don't need a 2500HD to get the 6.0

I am sure your truck is pretty quick since it is a RCSB but the 6.0 in anything fully loaded seems to be a dog. My 5.3 ECRB 4x2 W/T easily keeps up with VortecMAX 6.0 4x4 LTZ's and HD's.

Hell I give the new 5.7 Tundras a run for there money, it's pretty much a whoever lets off first looses kinda race. Around here I get more races in my truck than my GTO! Every one and there dog thinks there loud ass exhaust adds 300hp and that there stock diesel is top dog.

Thanks to my Pirelli Scorpion ATR's (L/T tread) I get around in the snow and ice like a champ too.

Yeah it's amazing how many people want to race my truck when I'm just cruising around normally, and it's not exactly something that even looks quick. I dunno what it is! Heck I was hauling around two Christmas trees this morning and had an idiot in a Scion XB with a fartpipe mess with me...what the crap?
