Lightbulb Truth...

This is my first time posting and ive been reading alot of what everyone says, and well i dont know about all the stories but i wont lie about mine. Since ive never posted before i guess ill just list a few of the stand out races ive been in for the last month that ive had my car. Yea and i have the 2.0 SS cobalt !!

I raced 2 SRT4s on different occassions and to me i really think its all about the driver. Both races were at red lights and we stay side by side for the most part, the main thing was the jump, i did better against the first one i raced and i won by a hair the second SRT was up on me and he had a better jump, so just make sure you get a good launch and try to hold ur ground.

STI...Well i was driving and i saw an STI so i jumped past him to see who was driving, to see if it was someone who was going to race or not. Well the driver looked like he was in his mid 40s so i didnt want to harass him to race, but then out of no where he takes off and im like WTF and downshift to 2nd to catch up, but i wasnt really catching him. Actually he was pulling on me lil by lil. So i just called it quits and made my turn.

I raced a G35 the other day and i was behing him on a fwy on ramp and it was one of the turning ramps where u do like a 360 almost, but any way as soon as it got straight we were both flooring it and we were side by side the whole way to 130 where we both shut down.

I also raced a 350Z and well it was from a 20 mph roll and well in the end ild say i was about 1/2 a car ahead of him, he kept up pretty good...but we killed it at not sure but around 80 guessing.

All and all im real happy with the cars performance, its faster than i relized when i test drove it. I didnt go into to much detail with the races cause i had a few to post, and ive had many other kills that i didnt post.

That's because they're crawling all over the streets because school is back in...I've been taking it real easy around here until they lay off a bit. I ran my buddy in his SIR the other night but we both cut it at 70km/h and it was a good thing too...cross the bridge on richmond, come around the corner, speed trap. Every time I've seen any of the SRT-4s out they seem to be babying the hell out of them...maybe they just need some "coaxing" to get their attention .

As for the original post, nice runs and it's nice to see you didn't blow the stories way out of proportion, makes them that much more interesting. Glad to hear you're happy with the car and having a good time...just keep an eye out for those pains in the ass with their radar stuck out the window .

350Z and G35 = Same and both are over-rated, I don't think there high end acceleration is much better than there low end.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the 350Z have 10 more hp than the G35?

you are correct ...for the first gen at least ...they now have the revised 300 horse engine ....the G35 also has more weight due to the fact it is a 4 seater but the cars are so close its going to come down to driver and based off the situation he posted the G35 was more in its element than the 350's which would explain why it would do better despite being the lesser(speed wise) of the two

i was on a dyno dynamics and it turned out 187hp/175tq but everyone says it's about 25 hp lower than most other dynos, and from seeing the numbers from all the cars there for the dyno day, i'd say 25 is about right

i'll have some other full dyno sheets from a dynojet, posted in a week or so with a/f and everything, i'm trying to get it in the shop for the new ones early next week.

now if only i could come across some 350's..each time i see one, its either a very old guy driving one, or a young kid that cant drive, or wont push his car (possibly borrowing it from the parents? )

Actually, I raced one at a 70mph roll. had him all the way to 130mph. I was 1/2 car ahead by the end.

G35 is so much nicer then the 350z. I think the 350z was built for guys with small peckers and big egos. Seriously... when a $20k car can beat a $27k car with less power, little less weight (maybe 200lbs if it was a coupe) then there is a problem. So many of these people overrate actually both the cars (G35 & 350z). Out of the two though the G35 is nicer (even though it's almost the same car).

A good quick story of a encounter one day happened like this: The priceless expression on the guys face when I beat him..he was like how much that cost you? I said 19k after rebates and GM discount... How much horsepower? I was like eh.. just 205 .. that thing have a V8? Nope, inline 4 supercharged... Him:

His girlfriend or wife was smokin hot. It was nice to embarss him Puts some owners to reality that there car isn't top **** sometimes. Not that mine is any better but when something better built and is the economical choice beats a car like that it's huge. Even the SRT-4 owner watching all this was like nice kill then you know your doing something right.

Nice runs, its always funny when someone thinks there is something wrong with their car when they run slow, when in reality its whats behind the steering wheel thats broke.

What speeds did you race the SRT-4's up to? A stock boost SRT-4 and a stock CSS should be pretty close through 1st and 2nd (depending on driver) but through the rest of the gears the SRT-4 should be pulling away.

Wow, learn something new everyday. Just kidding man. I knew this but the Z's tend to edge out the G's generally speaking. That's what I have gathered from the Z/G forums.

Well, what happens when you get a $4K Honda w/ a couple grand thrown into the engine and it beats a whatever price car? Same scenerio. Its all in fun and games. Everyone's drive to make their cars faster than others. Its the nature of the beast.
