Two little races today!
1st race
Ok so i finally got a chance to run my friend and his 2002 Ford SVT Lightning and i was pretty sure i would walk him pretty easily. But i didn't, now granted i have only owned my 09 Cobalt SS/TC for like 9 days and im new to shifting. Anyways our first pull was from 40mph to about 90mph and we were neck and neck. 2nd run was from a 20 roll and it was another close race but by the end i had him by half a car. The 3rd run was probably the best (for me) cuz it was a 30mph roll where my 2nd gear is most deadly, we got up to around 120mph and he was right at my bumper but i was still pulling a little bit.
2nd race
On our way back home i bumped into a 2009 Honda Accord v6 and that thing had some nuts on it thats for sure. I was kinda messing with him for fun and i kinda did a pass beside him and left it at that until at the last second i see him up on my side when i was just getting off the gas, i instantly got back into it at 4th gear at around 65mph (i know i should of down shifted) but he started pull on me a little because i had the turbo lag and getting caught by surprise but i was starting to catch him at around 85mph and at 110mph i was half a car ahead and then we shut it down due to traffic ahead and i had to catch my exit. Anyways, i was just surprised on how quick they were for a 4 door sedan.
My Car:
2009 Cobalt SS/TC Bone Stock
Friends Car:
2002 Ford Lightning SVT Stock
Random Accord:
2009 Honda Accord (im guessing it was stock)

Stock Accord with a V6 is running 271 hp.....0-60 in 7.5 seconds (that's not a typo).
If you were going from a dig he wouldn't have been anywhere close to you!

Good runs BTW.

Available on the EX trim levels is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 271 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque (251 lb-ft on manual-shift V6 coupes). Sedans with the V6 can only be had with a five-speed automatic, but a six-speed manual is a no-cost option on V6 coupes.
Acceleration is class-competitive with either of the four-cylinder engines, but the last V6 sedan we tested recorded a middling 7.5-second sprint from zero to 60 mph

whats even more interesting is the test sheet for the Cobalt SS. from the 2 test sheets, the Accord and the Cobalt SS would be a good race.

Well if you would look at your boost every once in a while (that is if you own a turbo vehicle) then you would see it takes a few sec from WOT to full 15-17 PSI unlike your superchargers which are instant from WOT to full 12 PSI. So thats what i mean by turbo lag.

I bought the car with 2,500 miles on it (now has 3,000) so it wasnt brand new. I could probably go with a new oil change (break in oil change) and use some synthetic oil becuase im sure it has some cheap oil in it right now. I get my first oil change free at Classic Chevrolet so ill have them put some synthetic oil in thier and see if that wont give me a few extra horses.
