What about from a 25mph roll, and just a regular stopped start?

You would be way ahead of a golf. If he buys a GTI he might be able to follow. If he buys a R32 umm wel yeeaaah.

From what I know (and read) about starting from a stop in a SS, you might be better off starting from a roll. I personally have never raced anyone driving a SS, so I am no expert. I have raced my 2.2L and I can launch it fairly well. I just takes practice.

An r32 golf 0-60 is the same as the cobalt even with the all wheel drive. since the cobalt has more power to the wheels (stock 184) to the r32 (180 hp) to the wheel and the cobalt's lighter weight the cobalt would clean house.

You have him, but just to clear things up... it would be an extremely close race between any vr6 or 1.8t GTI (2001 - 2005) and a cobalt ss s/c.

no, ppl dont know what their taking about. an .:R32 has 240 hp AWD and does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 14.2 seconds. it would rape an SS, but i highly doubt your friend in buying an 'R'. If he buys a GTi, just hope he doesnt chip it.

haha .2 to .1 seconds is not even close to raping and those time were acheived with a serrious clutch dump ... the trap speed stock for stock is typically lower than ours around 95-97 mph so anything other than a 1/4 mile race and its still the CSS

0-100 times are 15.2 for the R32 where the cobalt is good for a 14.4 sec so who is really raping who ?

Modded GTI would be a nice race. I would give the golf a head start. Give it a couple car lenghts or something.

i like how everyone is humble... we're not saying our cars will kill everything on the street, but even when someone inquires as to if an outmatched car will cream us, we're still humble....

There's no hoping dude, you are going to embarrass him. It's going to be that bad. I've raced modded 1.8t's and they didn't stand a chance either. A VR6 stands no better chance then either of those cars does as well. Even the famed R32 is still a good match for the SS/SC in the 1/4 mile and will get walked on in a roll race.

No, you guys aren't humble, you are retards.

I've raced an '06 GTI about 5 times. Lost every time, stayed even once. This GTI is bone stock. I start pulling back on him later in third, but this won't be an "easy win" for you.
