You were comparing magazine times. That is why I asked if there are Cherokees running 12.5s.

enough. get back to topoic.

stop jumping the cobalt band wagon.

wasey is clearly educated about alot of cars, as i am.

you know you, c7015, call yourself a auto enthusiest, a racer, or what ever, a real racer will know what the competition can do prior to going after it. thats being educated about competition. also has respect for all cars.

Hey eddie how goes it? What are you doing the 11th of Feb.? I might being going to Sac. to get some runs in.

Back on topic only 4x4 trucks seem to want to race me, oh and 5.0 and V6 mustangs. Nothing else. It's weird. 5.0s show off cause they can spend their tires and I can't even in the rain.

Depends on the X5. There is the regular X5 4.4i, which raced me (and I never said I beat it) then there was the limited production 4.6i and the the newer hot rod 4.8i. I am not sure the HP numbers, but the 4.4 makes 282hp, and the 4.6 and 4.8 are in the mid 300's, thats a big difference.

And the Hemi cherokee was a highway run, off the line he would of killed but a big brick of an SUV doesn't pull to well on the highway.

Me too. I don't know if I want to put 600+ miles on my car though just for a few runs as lame as this sounds, I am trying to get it trailered there . We'll see.

the fact that I posted average times for the vehicles in question shows I know what is to be expected from them ...when people see a cobalt they expect it to run a mid 14 they don’t just assume its tofu ... if you are taking issue with me calling weasy a troll that’s fine but it has nothing to do with how informed I am ...

Well there is one(Famoso) about 30min. away from me but its closed till March. Also they are building a brand new racing complex including half mile oval and quarter mile track and I think a small road course on Enos Lane right off the 5. Early 2008 I believe it is scheduled for completion.

They shut down(sold out to real estate) our old half mile oval that has been here for like 30-40 years. So they are building that one there. It will be about 30 min. away from me. They are suppose to be bringing some big events to it too once it opens.

It would depend on what year you raced though.

The 04 and newer have a Honda 3.5L 250hp V6 and 5 speed auto. The 200hp 4 speed auto would n't stand a chance. However you could beat the older Vues which only had a 182hp 3.0/4 speed auto. But visually they are identical.
Just to clarify for anyone, I've G-teched my Parent's 04 Vue in the 1/4 at 16.2 seconds... they are pretty quick for an SUV.

There was a CVT Transmission availiable for the VUE with the 250hp V6... which sucks the power out of the Honda Engine. That as far as I know has been Discontinued and a 5 speed Auto is now the Standard Tranny for the Vue, and the Redline.

Intersting. Cars are a bit quicker in Edmonton VS Calgary. I have personaly gone 0.5 sec faster at Bud Park in an 88 Camaro then I did at Race City.

But your V-tecs gotta be off. The wifes former car was a Grand Am GT. It id the 1/4 mile in 16.3@85mph (15.5 corrected to sea-level) Now the Vue has 75hp hp and 37lbs-ft more.

It does weigh more but the hp to weight ratio is 14.6lbs per hp VS 18.2 Grand AM GT VS 16.6 2.4L SS

So its gotta be faster then the Grand Am. Its going to Race City in the spring to race my 2.4L SS and I'll post results.

Just a FYI--the CVT was never on the V6. 4cly only, it could not handle the power of the V6. Just do a googel check and you'll see.

Maybe the reason why these things want to race is because they feel your underpowered. I have Ford and Dodge pickups riding my ass in my Sedan, if it was my SS they would see a dust trail as I'm hauling ass away.
