Wtf!!?

Alrighty so for the first time I decided to race my car tonight. Me and my friend were just cruisin and my friend decided to pick a fight against a new AUTO GT Mustang. So we go to a road where no one goes on and line up for the first race. We go from a dig and start to do the whole 3 honk thing and he goes on the first honk and we are like wtf???. He gets a bagillion car head start of course and by the time I catch up I yell "3 honks next time!" and hes like oh ok. So on the 2nd run from a dig he goes and I launch from 1200k and when the car redlines.......it sticks at 6500k (im stock) and just sits there for about 7 or 8 seconds....Im like wtf was that? Then Im like ok, lets try this again so we meet up with him again and im like i dont know wtf happened so lets go again. Then on the 3rd time, its the same thing all over again. I say **** it and go one my way to here at my buddies house. Overall Im a little dissappointed..the first run, I had a good launch but as soon as the clutch was nuke warm it SUCKED, only after one run from a little drop. Im pretty sure there is something Im supposed to know about my clutch that I dont know but can anybody give me some info about the situation. ps. I have a bottle of captain so im set for the night : )

Yea, it sounds to me you may not be taking your foot off the clutch completly. I'm not exactly sure, I almost would have to be there and hear what happen. I know this much for certain, you may have hit your rev limiter @ 6500rpms and your car is just going to bog out, not go anywhere. If you stay on the gas it could sit there as long as it needs to cut fuel untill you get off the gas. IMO, its always a good idea to shift into 2end a little early. Shift @ 6k right away and you will avoid the rev limiter. It used to be a big problem for me, I always hit it. Don't worry, you will get the hang of it. Good luck.
