Z06 v. Cobra
A lot of people run 150 shots. But there are also a lot of people running boost on the motor no problem. A friend near me is pushing 650hp on stock internals except valve springs, pushrods. He only needed those mods because of the cam.
Now is that safe....... That is to be seen. But there are a ton of guys pushing over 500hp no problems.

An LS1/LS6 can handle 8 pounds comfortably. It would dyno between 540-580 rwhp on an LS6 with a 3.5" Kenne Bell Twinscrew set up. That would amount to approx. 635-680hp. THAT is with the supercharger only, no bolt ons of any sort. So yeah, it takes plenty of boost. You don't need much anyway with a 5.7 liter engine.
...in what?

CR is high, long stroke, etc. etc. etc. When you build a large displacement motor specifically to make big power numbers n/a like gm did with the ls7, it takes away alot of the positive characteristics for forced induction. The ls7 is not a good candidate for forced induction and when you are talkin about a 15k motor, you better have lots of cash to **** away if you try it.
the z06 is the best car for the money. I love the sound of those things. Every new model the vettes increase the hp dramatically. By the year 2015, they will have 850hp stock and still get 28mpg on the highway.

Lower CR higher boost = Higher CR lower boost.

I think the zo6 takes very well to boost.
Higher "CR" yeilds better hp per pound of boost. yes you might have to run c16+ but your statement is not true. The only reason people lower "CR" is to make it more fuel freindly and are cheap ass and dont want to use race fuel.

with low cr and the potential for high boost, you can make great power on the street extremely safely on pump gas all day long, then if u want to, go get some race gas, tune for it and make significantly more power. With a high compression ratio your tunes have to be very VERY conservative on pump gas, and ur boost very low. a powerful f/i ls7 with the stock longblock is not going to be a street friendly car at all. there are MANY reasons the ls7 is not a good candidate for forced induction, those are just major examples of why, but i will site more if you'd like, it really is pretty interesting.

dont get me wrong guys, the ls7 is bad ass as hell, but it is not a good base for forced induction at all.
