Z28 vs C6 Vette, G8 GT vs Cobalt, G8 GT vs GTO
A few of us met up the other day to try and get a few runs in. Overall it went smoothly and we got some good races.
2000 Z28, 6 speed, Dynatech long tubes, offroad Y-pipe, Corsa catback, lid, tune, Z06 clutch and flywheel, shifter
2005 Corvette, 6-Speed, cai
**THE CORVETTE HAS A Z06 BODY CONVERSION. IT IS NOT A Z06**
The first race was a 1st gear roll with a passenger in both cars. At the start of the race, the Z28 was on the inside lane of a slight curve, fwiw.

The second race was a 2nd gear roll with a passenger in both cars.

2009 G8 GT, A6, cai, axleback exhaust, tune
2008 Cobalt SS TC, GM Stage 1
This race was from 40 mph, with a passenger in both cars.

2005 GTO, M6, stock

We raced once more from 50 mph, and it was closer, but he still got out on me pretty good.
Alot of fun to be had by all and zero drama

I'm now confused, you beat a gms1 cobalt by what looked like 2 to 3 cars but lost to a stock ls2 gto by like 4 cars and pulling? Something just doesn't add up not saying the cobalt should have won I'm more talking about the gto shouldn't have freight trained you so bad are you sure it was stock?

It was noticeably closer from a 50 mph roll. He probably got out 3 cars.

Sounds like the Cobalt might not have been running 100%, so there will be a rematch
I think my car might be a good race for a stock automatic LS2 GTO, with the GTO edging me out up top. When I was stock I raced a stock 6-speed LS1 GTO from a roll and he was able to edge me out up top.
Doesn't the GM Stage 1 kit keep the factory warrantee? I think that's why he went that route since it's his daily driver (Cobalt and Corvette are owned by the same guy).
I always find it funny when someone posts a race and then everyone starts saying, "well if he had these mods or those mods then it would be different." I'm sure it would, and if he had those mods then I would have raced him and posted up the results, win or lose.

I think people are still butt hurt over Gm's lackluster stage1 (including myself). Nice races. Great vids and presentation. I liked the pics with supporting mods. very professional

Good race.
Personally i think thats exactly where the cobalt should be.
i raced a bolted G8 with a can tune . we were dead even except from a 60 roll i pulled a car on him.
I also had a 30 PSI tune, downpipe and intake.

LS2 C6 is comparable to a C5 Z06. The LS3 has a mean top end. Top end I don't pull away much more from a LS3 Vette then I do a LS7.
