zzp s2 vs intense s5
ran a ion redline with fully built motor, intense s5 with full supporting mods and a half ass tune. guy said intense tune was ALLLL crazy so he started to re-tune he said his last dyno was 260-270 whp in that neighborhood basically because he was re-tuning and still working everything out. he did hook up meth yesterday but he didnt use it yet so his only cooling mod was a cobra h/e... i believe he said his iat's were 200 or something at idle. so he was HELLA heat-soaked running a 2.5 pulley obviously. however first run was a 40 roll so i believe his iat's came down it was about 73 degrees out and 40% humidity... first roll we stayed even up to 120... 2nd roll 45 mph... he was ahead by just a front bumper. we did 1 dig probably sat at the light for 1 minute. i got him by 1 and half cars cause obviously he was spinning his ASS off. i understand why lol. so i lost twice on a roll but won on the dig. really cool dood def hopefully i see him at meets. he is posted up here for the air force he is from houston, tx if anyone knows him. my mods if u dont know zzp s2. 3.1 pulley, pcm, 42lb injectors and air box mod. everything else stock. i think once he is fully street tuned i will get my ass walked really good. when i said his motor was built. Tune Time Performance had it for 4 months. Diamond pistons, comp cams, valves, springs. that motor can probably handle well over 300 whp i believe. i was just impressed when i looked at the pulley. i was like HOLLY **** that is small
Also, we all drove down to mexico to do all this cause street racing is illegal in the states

lol yea thats me....
Im got her buttoned up w/some of the best stuff, no big boy cams though...but Im tryna tune the thing myself, the intense tune was definitely good for the car when the car only had only the "intense stage 5 parts" and tune...obviously now, I need a real tune w/all the other mods.
Ima noob w/hptuners and I've had the program for a while just barely getting the hang of it...my main mission thus far was to do away with knock. MAF tuning, I had to give up on for the time being cuz it is kicking my ass!! Flashed the car back to the stock stage 5 tune, took out timing, and it runs w/no knock. Step 1.
I cant even get this thing back into the 13s again since the rebuild! lol 14.4 @ 102 @ atco last week. The tuning is coming along though, my afrs are so rich my lc-1 will just stop working and start blinking on wots pulls sometimes. I definitely APPLAUD all you tuners out there after messing with this program! 06ss, you car is definitely quick...its was nice to finally get to mess around w/another LSJ. Ill definitely be at the meets more often bro, was fun

Oh and my IATs definitely werent 200 at idle! lol I said I hit the traps @ 200* on that hot ass/humid day I went to the track last week. 2.5 definitely makes alot heat either way, and average 3rd gear pull will go to about 160-170 then within seconds drops back to the cruising 135ish on a hot summer day. No denying 2.5 makes crazy heat though, when I hook the meth back when I get the thing dialed in, it should help with the IATs a bit.
The tune is definitely not where it should be, Ima noob tryna learn so gotta give me sum time...

**EDIT** Not too mention, I would never take anything away from your car, ZZP is definitely running the game w/the LSJs so its no suprise it runs that close to my car w/mods for days....I need to hit em up and see if they gotta tune for me too, I might give up on this tuning, it aint for everybody haha

^^ haha u must be the guy w/the other intense kit...
I will say I wont take away from Intense Racing at all...this car did exactly what Intense said the Stage 5 kit would do when it was first slapped on it(2 years ago). Dyno'd 260whp/260wtq, ran a 13.6 @ 105 w/2.2+ 60fts. That was actually the best the car ever ran, for about 2 years with NO COOLING mods what so ever (the intense stage 5 is still a great buy for the LSJ in my book).
Then the "Intense Tunes are crap!" bug got in my ear and thats when I made my mistake, I let AT LEAST 3 guys on forums that called themselves "tuners" of this good ole LSJ at the time try to tune this thing and guess what, Ironically thats when the motor popped. "man, guess that Intense tune was a good one" I wouldnt exactly call it an Intense S5 vs ZZP S2, more like "a car ZZP S2 car runs neck and neck with a car w/a built LSJ w/a million mods" lol ...proves all the mods in the world dont mean anything w/o a good tune.
But after that mishap I said **** it, no one else is touching this thing, got HPT pro, rebuilt this thing to what it is now, flashed the car w/the intense stage 5 tune as my base tune, took some timing out and I'm now where I am today. The car isn't even as fast as it used to be(14.4 @ 102 2.4 60ft last week; 80* day 100% humidity but still), Im sure that has alot to do with the MAF, Im guessing headers and a full 3" exhaust will throw that original MAF table off a little.
Either way, I wouldn't expect me "trying to tune" my engine to hang w/a ZZP tuned vehicle, even the stage two, personally, Im glad I hung w/you Tim and I cant even really call that me pulling a bumper on you a win on either of the runs!
I would really love to get this MAF dialed in so the AFRs would at least be at what Im commanding and not run pig rich, then finally get to add the timing the car can really take utilizing the meth, then go from there. All tips-n-tricks are welcome, I personally think getting your MAF Error % table zero'd out COMPLETELY(+-2) is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! lol

I don't want to sound like an ass but take that freaken pulley off there. You have a built engine and it is time to be smart about it.
Get a 2.7" MINIMUM and get the car properly tuned.
Talk to Josh from OTTP and he can help you custom tune your car via email. You will have a 10x better tune after a few logs.
Have you checked your Intercooler pump lately? What are you running for an header/dpt?

getting your long term fuel trims in line is gonna take awhile. you need to pull the fuel out of the MAF table 6000HZ and under. it takes quite some time doing it on the street. also to MAF tune at WOT, its: Actual AFR divided by Commanded AFR. the number you get from there needs to be multiplied to the MAF table on all the cells from 6300HZ and above. that will bring you in line with your commanded AFR. tuning really is not that difficult, dont let it scare you :
