18's On The Front, 19's On The Back?

What do you guys think about putting 18" rims on the front and 19" rims on the back? I think i'm setting myself up for a bumpy ride but it looks so nice...

Looks good on a Vette cause the rear tires are wider and beefier. When I was a kid it was cool to even put different wheels f-r, like chrome reverse on rear and spoke mags on the front, like drag cars.

On a fwd car, I don't think 18f/19r would look right unless you played with tire sizes to get the right look and who knows what would happen to the handling. But it is all about what you want, not us.

Just my 2 cents.

Performance wise, it depends how you look at it. if you are thinking of going with 19 all around, then you will prob save some weight. if you are changing back 18's to 19's its gonna hurt you a little. straight looks wise, if you do it right, it will look good, but people will flame for putting that setup on a FWD car. if you do it, i wanna see it tho.

i appreciate the input but i am thinking of the look more than anything else. i picture the larger rear wheels to put a pretty good angle to way the car will sit

Why does everyone say not to do it, some of the nicest balts on this site have staggered rims (wider in the back) and everyone seems to love them (i.e. Remedy_One). If you want that look go for it. GM designed the Cobalt SS to sit with the back end up a bit higher to mimic the old muscle cars..... they had this look in mind.

I will however agree that from a performance standpoint, it does absolutely nothing positive.

It's your car man.

Thanks Chris!!
As far as my cars concerned, there is more grip all around though. As long as you go above the stock wheel/tire specs. Lower profile and wider is always a plus in my book.

I think it will look good as long as you go with the staggered look also.. What your going to run into as far as an issue is finding a wheel that has both 18's and 19's in your bolt pattern.. then you have to take into accout the offset and width you would need to make it look right. I say if you going to do it just make sure you do your research... becuz if you ordering 2 18's and 2 19's your gonna have a hard time returning them and u'll need a prayer to sell them

ummm it will totally **** up your launching and your 1/4 times, you will have less grip in the front and more in the back. It should be the other way around

If your gonna do that kinda thing, I'd reccomend a 19" front 20" rear. With an 18" wheel, your gonna need at least a 40 profile tire, which will obviously be a bigger profile than the 19" wheel on the rear will be running, to fill out the wheel well nicely, even when lowered. But a 19"/20" can both us a 35 profile tire, making the setup look more organized.

I'm not really against the idea.....its pointless on a FWD car, but its not really a "bad" idea.
