225/45-18 BFG G-force 2's ...pics

I could not get the one and only tire I wanted in the size I needed , which was a Goodyear F1-GS D3 . Going with a 225/40 woulda made my speedo off by approx 1.5 mph . After talking to alot of people and reading alot of reviews , I decided on the G-force 2's . So far theyve been great . Im so happy the hard as a rock , crappy Rosso's are gone . My car has all the handling ability of the Rosso's , they hook a little better on the street , they absorb the bumps way better than the Rosso's ever did , and they have a 300 treadwear rating to boot . Still not used to the tread design though .

Hopefully the pics come out right , I need a new monitor ....mine looks as if you have the brighnesss setting on the darkside ....so I couldnt tell if the pics actually show the tires well or not .

I'm debating between the 225-45R18's and the 235-40R18's. I see that a couple people have fit the 235's on the stock wheels, so I might go that route.

I thought long and hard about doing the 235/40 . If I did , I coulda went with the F1-GS D3 that I really wanted . After seeing the 225 though , Im so glad I didnt . Its just my tastes , imo the 225 looks nice with a lil more bulge than the 215 , the 235 would had too much sidewall bulge for my tastes .

Here's something that will help you decide

215/45/18 has 25.6 height

225/45/18 has 25.9 height

225/40/18 has 25.1 height

235/40/18 has 25.4 height

So the closest to the stock are the 235 if you want the lowest possible speedometer changes
I saw a SS/SC with 235 on stock rims and it looks really good

here is a link to figure out the differences in tire sizes
http://submissions.newsfilter.org/up...ls/8564/01.jpg

your tires as Rick pointed out compared to stock
Stock:
sidewall:3.8"
radius:12.8"
diameter:25.6"
circumference:80.5"
revs/mi: 787.0

new:
sidewall:4.0"
radius:13.0"
diameter:26.0"
circumference:81.6"
revs/mi: 777.0

the speedometer with the non-stock tire is 1.4% too slow.
when your speedo reads 60mph, you are actually traveling 60.8mph

Cant they flash in the new tires size so that the compter will compensate the difference and display the correct mph?

I don't think so. The 235's are not supposed to fit according to the manufacturer.

Yeah you can get the computer flashed. I think Alleycat had it done a while back.
