235/40r17??

As the title says, I want to put on 235/40R17's, but to do that I need at least a wheel that is 7.5" wide. I heard that with the 7" rims the spacing was +35-+45 or something.

At my work I have a plus size tire guide that says it will fit, but the book also says that you can fit 285's on a '06 GTO but I know that isn't so.

Q1: Did anyone install 235's and have it fit without rubbing, at stock height and lowered 1 or 2 inches and without rolling the fenders?

Q2: Does anyone know of a decent website with nice light wheels? Other than Discount and Tirerack.

Q3: What would the spacing be with a 7.5" wheel?

I don't feel like dropping more than a grand on wheels either.

Now if it comes down to it, I'll just get some factory 17's and do 225's, cause I can get them for about 400 bucks total.

The 235/40-17 tire fits GREAT on the car at the stock height(=me) or lowered (2K5SS/SC?) . No clearence issues . I think we could get 245/45's without a prob even . My Rota rims are 7.5 " wide , and the offset is 40 mm . A group of us did a Custom order , they WILL do abother one if u have 5 buyers for the same wheel . $650 for 4 rims shipped and the rims are 17 lbs a piece .

Are they those black ones? Those look sick, but I might want to go with a bronze or gunmetal for my color. Hmm 245/35R17 that would be a dream come true. That is what I really wanted all along. But then I have to get an 8" wheel, cause 235 on a 7.5 is already squeezed.

Did you guys get different colors for each of you or do they all have to be the same color?

The wheels on my car are gunmetal , heres a clearer pic of them off the car .

.....this particular wheel Rota does not offer in a 8" width . We tried to get that width . The 235's I have now are Bizzak winter tires , for the summer Im gonna run 245/45 goodyear F1GS D3's . Seeing the 235's , the 245's I dont think will suffer the ugly bulge on the sidewall . Theres 0 bulge at all with the 235's . Guess well see .

...btw , to answer ur last ques. all the GP wheels from Rota have to be the same size and color . If u can get 5 to agree on the same thing , you can choose any of Rota's wheel finishes . We looked into getting the G-force rim too ...that wheel you CAN get in a 8" width .
