Best tires??

I'm interested in getting new tires for my 09 ss. I have the stock 18inch rims. The tires i have right now are bad and i don't get much traction from them. I was wondering what are some of the best tires i can get for my car and snow is not a problem around here. maybe the 3 best tires. thanks

so i take it you dont want snow tires, lol.

so what do you want?

summer tires or all season?

how much do you want to spend?

you answer these questions I can give you an accurate opinion.

summer tires will have better dry grip than all seasons. better braking and acceleration traction, more ability to pull lateral g's. a stiffer tread pattern with better steering response.

all season tires sacrifice some of this performance to gain snow traction.

They are about the same when it comes to wet traction.

I'm looking at tires in that price range currently....just a sec.

If max traction is what you want the two best summer tires in that price range in that size are the:

Bridgestone Potenza RE760
Hankook V12 Evo K110

The BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS are all season tires, and out of the price range you told me based on tire rack.

They wont be as good as the tires I mentioned for dry performance but will have better snow capability.

You also have to take into consideration how many miles you want to get out of them. I have the nitto invos and after 20000 miles they still have a lot of tread left. They have plenty of grip too.

You're not going to get a decent tire for under that.

Wow I'd expect the RE050's to be more expensive since they are an OEM tire. interesting.

I have a 09 also and I’m looking for an extremely good pair of all-seasons. The price doesn’t matter. Any suggestion

I personally like the RE960's for all season.

But the Conti extremecontact DWS's are real popular too.
