BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S

Anyone run this tire?

I've been on Nitto Motivo's for quite a while and been pretty happy with them. I'm mostly worried about longevity. My only beef has been that they are a bit too skinny and the lip doesn't cover the rim.

I'd like another A/S mostly due to longevity. I don't track the car so I'm not worried about spinning, etc, but I'd like a good balance. The COMP-2 Sport's seem to get good reviews, but haven't seen much on the A/S version. The price is pretty good at $120/tire. Has anyone had them?

Also, whether it's the A/S or Sport, did the lip cover the rim? I had some GY Eagle's that covered fine, and the OEM Conti's covered fine (all 225), but these Motivo's didn't. I could go up to 235, but these tires are $20 more per tire. At that price I'd probably look at a different tire.

They will rub if you're lowered lol.

I'm not considering those, and I have no reason to be that wide

I've had the comp 2 a/s since last November. I have a 8in wide rim and they don't cover the lip at 235's there close so if u have stocker rims it should. They work well in the rain which is why I grabbed them last winter cuz it was very wet for northern California last year and the dry no complaints, works well for a all season tire 2nd gear pulls no real spin with a boost ramp ofcourse lol I like to corner at higher speeds and they handle it great. ive put like 20k miles on them with a lot of abuse there taking it well. I think you will like them!

Thanks for the useful feedback!

So, 235 on 8in wheels didn't cover the lip? 225 is about 1/2in smaller and the stockers are 7.5in (IIRC) so I'm not sure if I'd be in a better situation. I would think that the lip on the tire isn't affected by the tread width though, so it may not even matter. Maybe I can ask to mount one up to see, or compare new vs. old tires.

I use the BGF GFS Comp2 Summer tire. I love it for the price, probably the best you can get for 115 each. I run 225-45-18s

You must've gotten a good sale/deal cuz I can only find the summer tires for $126 ($145 in 45 AR). A higher AR would look better on the car, but since I don't have a way to change the speedo/odo count I'm going to stick with as close to 225/40 as possible.

Just had a set installed about a month ago. Heard good reviews on Tire Rack for winter driving, so hopefully they won't disappoint.

Thanks for the input. Tires got installed today. Might take some pictures tomorrow. The tire lip DOES cover the edge of the wheel even on 225/40. The tread is beefier than I'm used to seeing, but it looks good. We'll see how long it lasts

I would have suggested the Nitto 555 G2's if I would have seen this thread sooner. No real reason to use an A/S here in AZ, IMO.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences with them!

Mostly I wanted better treadwear. I'm not tuned or anything, don't track it, so performance A/S tires have plenty of traction for me. Discount tire also has good mounting prices, and their selection of Nitto's is limited.

So far these are good. I haven't pushed them, but no spin in first or second. No whining on fast left turns either. They have some road noise, but not too bad. I'm going to check my toe to make sure it's straight, then hopefully I'll get a few years out of them!

I've got the G-force tires but not sure of the model. Either way I think their both similar. If you care about road noise don't buy these ******* lol. Their probably the best summer tire I've had but are loud as ****. I don't really care though it mutes all the ricers out there haha
