can't decide on tires

Okay looking for tires. For 70/30 street track. Car is tuned on 25psi on E. I have nitto motivos on it now. And I can't keep the power down on anything under 3rd gear. They do well in the turns. But coming out of the corner in 2nd at part throttle still spins bad. I don't want nt01 because I want more mileage. I've been looking at the falken azenis. I'm really leaning towards them. I'd like to stay with a 200 tread rating atleast. Hopefully will see like 1 track day a month. Any others? Thanks guys. Oh suspension mods may help with traction. So I'll have bc racing rm series coilovers. And I'll have Powell rear sway bar hardcore. And possibly engine and trans mounts. Thanks again guys.

Hankook RS3. What size wheels and tires do you have now?

I have 235 40 18 now. Planning on the same size. I have drifz holeshots rims. I think the back spacing is off they stock out a little to much i think. So I don't think I can go wider.

RS3s run a bit wide, so you would want to compare the specs to your current tires. They last a long time considering the amount of grip they have.

First and second can be 'detuned' to reduce wheelspin.

They are already detuned only running 16-17psi up to 4500. Then comes on to 22 then 4700 25. How many miles do the rs3 get?

25psi in first and second is not detuned.

If you are really concerned about how long tires will last for street driving, you should probably pick up a second set of wheels. My fronts were pretty much gone after a full summer of autocross and around 10,000 miles of street use. The rears were at about 6/32'' still. This was with 255/40/17 tires.

I'm not like real worried about it. But i don't want street tires that only last 7k miles. I'd like to get at least 12-15k which a 200 tread rating should do. If I get a second set of rims/tires I would get a set of the nt01 or something similar to that. And the 25 psi doesn't come on till almost 5k rpm. I had it set up that 25 psi was coming on at 3500 or less before. I turned it down a lot. Haha. I don't want to turn it down anymore than that lol.

He's saying boost by gear rather than just a boost ramp.

I believe the BFG Rival gives pretty decent life while gripping pretty well. I've got a pair that will be going on the front of my IRL for this spring/summer.

you can give the NT05 a shot ... those are a median from what you have now and the NT01.

Ive ran my NT05 for 1 summer already, getting ready for round 2. You can get a good deal on them if you look hard enough.

I run 225/40/18 on a 18x8 wheel ... they respond very well and fit the wheel nicely and have little to no roll over.

The dizera dII are also a good tire, a little more pricey but everyone loves them.

did your wheels clear the brembos without a spacer? would love to see more pics of them

If you're doing a track day every month, why not get serious about it and get a second set of wheels and tires? Nothing is going to last with that much abuse.

I have a set of 255/35r18 continental extreme contact DW for summer and a set of 235/45 extreme contact DWS for winter. the 255's have plenty of meat and hook up great.

Try the RE-11's, they are phenomenal, they are on my Z and have been lasting a lot longer than I expected and have fantastic performance.
