Center Wheel Chevy Bowtie

Does anyone make a replacement for the bowtie in the center of our wheels? I cannot stand the gold anymore.

Look around for a thread on this, I think it was in the how to section. The short story is, that emblem is not replaceable as it is part of the airbag assembly. The back of the emblem has long tabs on it to keep it attached to the steering wheel cover in the event of an accident. In the other thread, the poster said he busted his out of there and put an emblem that I think was meant for one of the tire center caps. He was then flamed about how unsafe that is since it could be a flying projectile in an accident.

I agree with you, I don't like that bowtie in the center of the steering wheel either. Don't go ripping it off however. You will be left with an ugly "nothing" in the center. I've been trying to find some kind of self adhesive vinyl solution that would look good there.

Ok let me clarify, this is for the CENTER OF THE WHEEL. I know about the steering wheel and I cannot wait for that but what about the center of the wheel?

Paint that ****. Tape it off and paint it GM black. It looks nice. I did that to all of my wheels and both the front and back symbols. Takes about 10 minutes to do all of them. And it gets rid of that natsy gold.

I took the back one off and painted the front Black. I may do the wheels next. Just checking for products first.

Best I could find. Been looking for a replacement for a while. Not what I have in mind, but I am interested to see if it works.

Another decal maker, this one offers different colors, however.
