considering new wheels

Hey whats up guys. Here lately i've been thinking of getting new wheels for my 2.4SS, but the whole extra weight issue is keeping that idea from really taking off. I'm content with my wheels, as I think the thick are a signature feature for Chevy SS models, and I like the 17" size alot, but recently, a close friend of mine put aftermarket wheels on his Scion xA. He had 15"s stock, and upgraded to 17" MB Motorsports Weapon wheels, and I loved the way they turned out. If I did do a wheel upgrade, it would definitely be 19"x7.5" Falken Torque-5's in chrome. I love chrome 5 stars for Cobalts, as it whats im used to considering thats what my car came stock with, and a friend of mine has 18" gunmetal Torque-5's on his gunmetal Eclipse and I think they are sexy wheels. However, I do plan on taking it the dragstrip alot over the summer (MIR and Sumerduck Speedway), and I hate the hassle of switching wheels. I know i'd probally be fine just taking the front wheels off and switching back to stock up front, as they are the drive wheels, b/c the small amount of extra weight in the rear won't make much difference. But do you really think its worth it to pay $1,700 for wheels that I might be taking off frequently over the summer? I know they'd look amazing, but should I just keep the stockers? (and dont say "spend your $1,700 on engine mods, b/c i've already spent a fair amount of my engine, and im getting it tuned w/ HP Tuners in less than a month).

If you are really leaning towards getting the 19's, go for it! Besides taking them off for the track, you'll end up riding on them for most of the year, and you'll have the stock ones for the winter anyway.

Post pics when you get them alright?

well I decided to go with a more motorsports themed wheel. I've decided to get some 18"7.5" or 18"x8.0" Rota Torques in white. I love the white on white look, and its a rare sight nowdays as white wheels have kinda fallen into the un-popular category. My roomate is the one who actually gave me the idea, as he is getting gold Rota Torques for his '06 STi. Both our cars are white, so it'll look nice with two modded rides sitting on Torques sitting gracefully in our driveway.
