i've seen what you're talking about done online. honestly not a fan of it. i've seen some muscle car guys do it on the rear wheels only so they can fit a larger tire back there and still appear stock. then of course you have the crazy vdub guys that have done that to steelies.

 

yea the steelies is where i think i first seen it done/ paid attention to it

ill just pop in some NFS and sculpt the rims to desire dimensions
