I'm with spike. 17x9 +35 offset or bust. If that happens, I will find the money. If not, I will spend it elsewhere. I wonder if there is anyway they could grab us 5 sets before they get drilled? Could you contact your guy and see? I have a wonderful machine shop next door to my house that would be able to machine them out, I bet. If we can get them completely undrilled I will go talk to them.
We should start a list. So far I have seen 3 people interested in 17x9 +35 offset, so I would say that is the most popular size right now. I would be down come tax time if we could get them under $300 a wheel. Otherwise I am looking to other avenues (probably OZ solstice wheels with a custom offset).

Yeah, I assume a good machine shop would be willing and able to do it. I hope we can at least get these. If we can get them at the same cost as a drilled set I would be happy.

Rage, can you get a hold of your contact to see if we can get undrilled sets? I would TOTALLY be down to buy them then. And don't let them give you the bullcrap of 25 sets either. Who are you contacting for this? I just contacted Gruppe-S about some GTC-4's and he said they would need 20 sets ordered. So, basically its up to the vendor you are going through.
Also, are you certain that these will fit over the Brembos? They seem to be pretty beefy on the caliper side of the spokes.

Spoke to Kurt who, with what company?
And, I guess having that kind of support would be nice. But, we could also try for a different syle. The new PF01 will DEFINITELY clear the Brembos with a +35 offset. Maybe we could talk them into some blanks of those (though they seem more expensive).

Im not happy that they are only selling the PF01's in a 18x8. I want an inch smaller, and an inch wider, thanks, lol. and I really want the RPF1's too.
thanks for clearing up who you talked to. Do you talk on phone or email?

Ah, I was gonna say if its email, I could email him and possibly sway him onto a prototype set of blanks. I think I could use some resources I have to sway him, possibly...
I hate talking to salesmen on the phone though. Frickin ruins my day and puts me in a grumpy mood.

Sounds good. I mean, if we could get a couple sets of blanks, I am sure my shop could run a special on getting them machined, if some people don't have the means.

Well, if we get them, it certainly won't be in an 18. These are race only wheels, not really intended for the rigors of street use (hit a nice pothole and kiss one goodbye).

If we can get 5 sets of blanks, I will go talk to the machine shop asap. We could possibly get this done around tax return time (since I am looking to buy my wheels then). If you all wanted to ship them here, I could possibly talk the machine shop into doing all 5 sets pretty cheap.
If everyone is interested, please PM me. I will take care of getting a hold of enkei and getting the machining done. I need 5 people to make this worth my effort though (which, we have 5 interested thus far). ALSO, we might be able to try some custom offsets. I might be able to convince Enkei to leave out sets with 0 offset, then my machine shop could custom cut the offset so I could test fit them (best to take it away slowly, and see what works). I would hate to order say +35 offset, and actually need +32 or so, or have +35 be way to aggressive, etc...
Lemme know guys and I will get this going. I also have a couple ideas I cannot discuss openly on the forum, please PM me for that info.

That's our 5, but if I could get you guys to PM me, I need to assure the interest, and toss some ideas around with you guys.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Enkei, or any reputable manufacturer releasing blanks to customers.
All it would take is 1 shitty drill job to cause a failure, Enkei will not take that chance. Pics of said failed wheels on the web would instantly erase any profits they could make helping a few cobalt owners.
I hope you guys prove me wrong,
but Enkei will not trust their name to "your machine shop"
