Finally ordered the 19"s!!!

Whats up guys. Well my girlfriend finally got all her money together to buy my 18" Enkei WDMs off me for her '05 Tibby (don't worry, the WDMs are 5x110/5x114.3, so YES they'll fit her car), and the rest of the money I pulled from my savings to fund some 19"x8" Konig Theorys. I ordered them from wheelsnext.com, same place I ordered the Enkei's from. They were $1,750 shipped (free shipping, mounting, balancing and hardware). Of course I stayed true to the gunmetal/polished lip, much like the WDMs, when I chose these. I'll take out the ol' digital camera (along with the instructions, as i've only used it once, lol) and snap up some shots once they are on!

edit: Scratch that......Wheelsnext called me and told me that the Theorys are discontinued but they'd custom drill me any 19" wheel I wanted for free for my troubles. I said screw it and paid $150 more some custom drilled 19"x8.5" Axis Hiros, gunmetal/polished lip. Hellllll yeah!!! Custom 19"s for the 'balt baby!

Does this make me the first 2.4SS to use 19"s? I've yet to stumble across a 2.4SS on the forum w/ 19"s.......hmm.......

Lets see what tires they come with this time.......the WDMs had "Sonar Ultra Sport NS-2's".....LOL

Will do. I'm anxious to see what a 19"x8.5" setup looks like on a 'balt. I've seen 19x8, and 18x8.5, but never a 19x8.5 setup I think Remedy has 19x8.5" in the front and 19x10" in the rear though.

Well, bad news. Got a call from Wheelsnext today saying that the custom drilling came out shitty. The Axis Hiros have a deep center hub, and also b/c they aren't a "universal" 5-lug, meaning they only have 5 holes instead of 10 (like my WDMs), they proved too difficult to custom drill and still look good. They drilled them and the rep said that he refused to send me such bastardised looking wheels, lol. He offered me some 19x8 TSW Nogaros, but im not really a fan of silver wheels......so I dont know what to do now. I need w/e I get asap as im leaving for the beach on July 15th, so i'd love to have the 19"s before then.........hmmm.......this leaves me little options. I might just take PlaysWitCar's flame and get the black/polished 19x8 Axis Mods. They aren't my 1st choice, but they ARE the same price as the Hiros, come in our bolt pattern meaning no time consuming custom drilling, and are a dark wheel with a polished lip, which is what I much prefer over a silver or chrome wheel. And in a time like now, they are really all thats on the table considering my circumstances. So he's gonna call me later and I guess i'll go from there.......

man, I really wanted those gunmetal Hiros too........

sick man! I actually considered those wheels when I decided to make the move to 19"s......good thing I didn't get them or we'd have twins, lol. Believe it or not, but back when I first caught wind of a non-S/C SS model Cobalt back in late '05 and then looked at the '06 brochure, I first thought "man, I bet a summit white SS would look sick, especially since the SS/SC models aren't available in it that color"), so I proceeded to check out cardomain and search for one.........and found only one white 2.4SS at the time.........yours!!! Of course, back then you were rolling on the stock 17"s, but you had the Sportlines on and had an Injen intake, and I was in love with it. So long story short.......your car is the car that sealed the deal on my decision to get a white 2.4SS.

b/c in case you didn't read the FIRST post, I initially ordered custom drilled Axis Hiros in gunmetal/polished lip, but they had issues drilling those. So, I had to cancel those and start the entire process over and choose a different wheel, and wait on it to get custom drilled as well (I had thought Axis Mods came in our bolt pattern, but further inspection on Axis's own website proves me wrong.......no 5x110 pattern after all, I guess PlaysWitCars are custom drilled too), but these won't have issues w/ looking messed up b/c they have a centercap lug cover, so the holes will be covered. Then of course after they get custom drilled by wheelsnext, tires gotta be mounted and the whole setup has gotta be balanced, and then shipped out. They are supposed to come in this week, as I was promised i'd recieve them by the 14th, as I leave for the beach on the 15th. Then a week of vacation, and THEN you'll get your pics, lol.

Are those the ones you are looking for? Don't know if Gravana has them custom drilled or not.

Yeah, but i've already ordered them and they should be here by Friday sometime. If Gravana is anything like Wheelsnext they just list that wheel b/c it has a good fitment/offset w/ our car, and list it as 5x110 simply b/c they can drill it and leave no signs it was custom drilled as it has a centercap that covers the lugs.

Axis's own website shows no 5x110 pattern though, and Eric, the wheelsnext rep I did business with even spoke w/ an Axis rep about them, and they had to be custom drilled.

Yeah I'm still on vacation. I come home the 22nd. The wheels didn't come in time so I had to buy a new rear tire for my 18"s and slug it out. Its not that I minded coming down on the 18"s.....it was the $141 I minded to get a new tire locally with one days noticed, plus mounting/balancing, bringing the total to $192. Bye bye beach money. My roomate IMd me last night telling me the 19"s are in so ill put them on asap when I get home later tommorrow. Pics will come shortly after. Sorry for the delay, its not my fault! Lol.

Ps, this post was done via my Sidekick iD......who needs a computer when you got a super-phone!? Lol

well, im home in one piece, the car is mostly in one piece (ill explain in a sec) and the 19"s are mounted! I must say, they look soooooo sick! Actually better than what I had imagined in my head. Axis even includes little spacers to make the whole setup a bit more flush with the fenders. The wheels are kinda a pain to put on as you have to use a screw driver to take the lug-cover off and the actualy Axis logos screw on.......or you could just say im lazy, lol. The only downside to changing out the wheels, was that in the process of taking the old ones off, me and my friend managed to break off a stud........whoops......so now my front left wheel is a 4-lugger until I take the time to get a new stud put on. But even so, it still drives fine w/ the 4 out of 5 lugs there, and the whole setup feelsl like it really grips around the turns. In terms of acceleration, I honestly feel no real difference. Maybe at the track it'd show up slower, but real world driving, the diff between 18"s and 19"s seems awfully marginal, b/c my car still feels just as peppy. Oh, and as for the tires, they are 225/35/19 Nankang NS-2's just for those wondering. Im gonna try to shoot some pics sometime today, so hopefully ill have pics soon!
