getting new tires...help please

ok, so i've settled on the nitto nt555 high performance summer tires b/c of their great bang for the buck; I was going to go with kdw 2's again but was told to check these out. my question is on a stock ss/sc 18 inch rim could i fit a 245/45/18 tire on there or is it too wide? Im on stock suspension and was also wondering if that size tire fit the rim would i rub either? again im on stock ride height with stock 18 inch ss/sc rims. If these dont fit would a 235/45/18 fit? im just looking for as much DD traction as possible. thanks.

too wide and too tall for both the car and the rim. they will rub and they may not seat properly on the wheel. go with a 40 sidewall, not 45.

fyi 235/40/18 = closest to stock diameter.

agreed with the rolling diameter thing, but they will seat on the rim
if your looking for traction try some
michelin pilot sport 2's (PS2)

because the sidewall of '45' is a percentage of the width, 45%
so because your going wider, if you stick with the same percentage you will have a larger diameter,
so to offset this you do a wider tire, with a lower profile percentage, that way you keep the same diameter and your spedo stays calibrated

i would guess not, but i'm not to sure, if you went to a 245 you should prob go down to a 35 profile, IF it will even have clearance for turning
