Those tires look AWESOME. I'm not a huge fan of polished lips on rims like that, seems to make them look smaller. But that tread is sick!! reminds me of the tires on my honda CBR motorcycle (which is sold now, needed money in college!)

i was worried about them looking small, but they don't really. i'll get some pics of them on the car tomorrow. i definately wanted a polished lip though, otherwise the black just blends into the tires.

There are a few people that fit 235/40's on the stock wheels, but they have bulge.
that's odd, tirerack said no to the 235/40's. i suppose when my 2 fronts get worn down i'll rotate the tires and get the 235/40's put on the back then repeat for the 2 fronts and switch them too. cheaper than doin it all at once.

Yeah. But you can possibly make them last longer by rotating.

yea, i'll just let the 2 fronts wear completely then swith to the 235's, put them on the back and put the 225's on the front and then switch them when they wear.so, in some 30,000 miles or so i'll have 235's lol. maybe i'll just stick with these.

How exactly does a wider tire throw your speedo off?

I think what he was trying to get at is that when u change the size from ur stock tire wider thinner smaller bigger whatever...it's not going to be the exact size ur stock tire was. Since ur speedo is calibrated for the stock tire changing to anythnig but stock size will throw ur speedo off some.

Actaully, for us going to a 235/40/18 is closer to stock size than 225/40 or 45/18.

yeah, but i always thought since they were 18x7 that you guys were running 215/40. speedo won't be off so much then on 235/35.

215/45R18 - stock

225/40R18 - Speedometer Difference: 2.117% too fast ...............100kph will read 102kph........60mph will read 61.2mph as a guideline
225/45R18 - Speedometer Difference: 1.398% too slow
235/40R18 - Speedometer Difference: 0.825% too fast
235/35R18 - Speedometer Difference: 4.666% too fast

Yes 235/40/18's fit fine as I have them on my ride. There is buldge but they are sick and so is the handling. Others on the site have them as well. Great tire, any pics with the rims on the car?

^^^^^ ya i want to get 235's but i have sportlines and with the odd injen intake fitment I get a lil rubbing when I lock the steering to the right. So I really wish theres was a away to find out if 235's would rub specifically for my car.

i actually think i'm gonna stick to the 225/40's. they fit perfectly on the 7.5 icnh rims. the 235/40's are recommended for a minimum rim width of 8 inches. i'm trying to get the most life out of these so the better the match up the better overall for me. even with a slight bulge you can get uneven/accelerated tire wear. i really don't care if my speedo is ~2% fast, that's good for me. i usually do ~7-8 over the limit so now i'll actually be doin ~5-6 over in reality. it'll trick me into driving nicer.

p.s. updating pics in the first post as well as the next one.

ASA JH8 i just bought myself a set of those....recommended tire size is 225/45/18 but i'm putting my stock pirelli's on (215/45/18)...i got in contact with tire rack and these tires will fit fine...should perform just as well also.....when i need tires again i'll just go to my gm dealership and order another set of rossos and most likely get them cheaper for dealer prices and free shipping....so in the long run i think that is a better alternative....although maybe the pzero rossos in 225/45/18 will perform better.....next summer i might go with that...but gotta love the looks of a black SS/SC with these black ASA JH8's and red calipers.....makes me smile..i'll post pics when i have them....like wheels tho..lightest i've dealt with..

the kdw2's definately perform better than my perellis ever did. the grip is uncomparable.
