Got tires as a xmas gift!!!!! Now which ones should I get?
Just like the title says, my mom said she'd buy me my new set of tires for christmas, so now I have to go pick out the set I want. I was hopin you guys could help me out with the best ones out there. I want something that has awesome dry-performance but is also good in the rain (and maybe even snow, not that my car ever really sees it). And something that has a good ride. Let me know what you guys think is best and what you have. Thanks guys!!!
all season = bfgoodrich g-force super sport a/s . awesome in the weather we just had, great traction and cornering
great rain traction, comfortable ride and i dont hear any noise

I have been more than pleased with my BFG KDW2's - they bite pretty hard and, despite the noise through corners, they hold their grip. Though, I've had them on for three or four months and only put thirty miles on them - and I don't drive in the rain or the cold...YMMV.
Bridgestone Potenza RE01's are another good choice - but is less all-season than the KDW2's.

neither the re01s or kdws are going to be good in the snow. if you're looking for a tire for snow/ice/slop, you want many small sipes cut in the tire. the large blocks on the summer tires add stability for less greasy dry handling, but suck in the white stuff.
I got stuck in 1.5 inches of snow with my kumho ecsta spts last winter. if you can only get one set, i'd definitely compromise towards an all season tire.

I have to second the BFG G-Force A/S tires, they are the best bang for the buck and provide pretty good performance as well for those snowy occasions in jerz, i'm going to buy these next month
225/45/18 Goodyear Eagle GT/AS = best bang for the $$$ They also have a nice aggressive thread pattern and an excellent rim protector.

dont get nitto neogens, my buddy has them and he burnt thru them really quick plus the traction was not nearly as good as my KDW2s, and the KDW2s are not winter tires, its hell to drive with them in the snow, but dont get neogens, i'd definitely go towards an all season tire, but if you are hooked on Nitto tires then i hear alot of great things about the NT555's
It also depends on how much coin he is willing to spend and how many miles he would like them to last.
