Which tires I should get. I want 225/40/18. I dont need any fancy tire, I just need a good tire with long treadlife and a reasonable price.

 

I f you want to support the US economy, get the Generals. They are American made. Kumho's are made in Korea I think. Both are good bang for the buck tires.

I would go with the General Exclaim UHP....I think for the money, you get great overall performance. I can't comment on tread life, but I think they are going to be better than the Kumho's.

Kumho Ecsta AST has a 400 UTQG while the General Exclaim UHP is 380. Very close.

 

The ratings are done by each tire manufacturer and so a 300 from one company could be equal to 400 from another company...the tread wear ratings are best to be used when comparing 2 or more tires of the same manufacturer since that's the only way to know which tires are going to last longer.

 

i just picked up a set of yokohama 430s i think they are on ebay for 300 bucks after shipping and with the bing cashback thing they are a all season tire hard to beat that
