How much do GM's 16x6 5-lug alloys weigh?
How much do GM's 16x6 5-lug alloys weigh?
From another thread I've already found a stock steel 15x6 wheel weighs 16 lbs.
I was curious how much does this 16 inch alloy weigh.
I'm trying to figure out how much GM's wheel and tire combo weigh
to see if it's worth it trying to get a different set up.
*If someone knows how much the combo or the tires weigh, that'd be great too.
I want the lightest and slimmest tire (but a grippy tread compound)
that I can get away with stock or close to stock tire diameter.
So far I asked a dealer how much could I get by selling the original 16x6 alloys plus tires
back to the GM Parts Department before I drive the car off the lot.
They told me they could give me $400 CDN back
for four brand new 16" alloy wheels and 205/55R-16 tires.
That sounds messed up, the wheels alone are worth $1600 CDN new.
I imagine the whole combo is worth $2400 to someone who actually wants them,
so I think they're trying to rip me off by not being able to give me back at least $1000.
Anywho, I'm trying to figure out how much weight am I working with,
to find out if there's a weight penatly for having LT wheels and tires,
since Canadian LT's are not offered with 15" rims.
