Hub Ring Problem

Hey guys I just got some new rims and I figured I should be able to use my old hub rings with these but there is something funny going on. My old rims which are BSA 333 had a center bore of 73.1mm. The new Evoke F1 rims which are identical for Drag DR-11 rims say they have a bore of 73mm. You would think that with the 73.1 rings they might be a little tighter inside the a 73 bore but thats not the case. When they installed on my BSA rims they were very snug however when attempting to put them in the new rims they are extremely loose. I guess my question is are hub rings always suppose to snap in place or is it ok if they just kinda float inside? I have sent a message to the vendor about them but all my searching says that the bore should be 73. I was contemplating if I should just get some that was maybe 74 or 75 instead. Any suggestions?

A hub ring should never be loose.

The point of a hub ring is to center the rim perfectly on the hub to prevent any vibration and aligning the studs perfectly.
